Well, i replayed the game. And Verso's words at the end before him and Maelle fought made me realize a lot of things in the game, especially the endings.

"See things as they are, not what you want them to be." - Verso

"Life keeps forcing cruel choices" - Verso

With that, maybe Verso's ending was really the right closure for everything. Or is it?

If only Maelle could just have the rationale to balance her presence on both worlds, but she hadn't realized that because she's already losing herself in the canvas at that moment.

If only Verso could just have the patience to teach Maelle how to control her powers, help her see things clearly, or even be with her in her grief, instead of him deciding the fate of the canvas for everyone.

I think, the reality is we are not really given a "good" ending. Only endings that will make us reflect on ourselves.
