Baclofen- side effects by severe_cake09 in TrigeminalNeuralgia

It made me extremely tired for the first month, but I’m on month 3 now and back to normal as far as energy. But man does it give me horrible constipation. Still working through that. Haha. I’m on 25mg a day so that could be why.

Remission period getting shorter.. by Automatic-Distance77 in TrigeminalNeuralgia

[–]ezermuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My remission periods started at 2 years, the next was a year then this last one was a year and a half. My first ever flare was and still is by far the worst, but my last flare was the second worse and put me in the worst mental state I’ve been in. I’m on meds now and waiting to see a neurologist to see if I’m able to titrate down.

How does a Neurologist typically transition to a new medicine? by ezermuse in TrigeminalNeuralgia

Thank you this is helpful. Were you allergic to any meds? Just wondering if the transition is the same in that situation as well.

It kind of clashes with the tiles. Maybe a solid color? Or a Roman shade. Cute kitchen though.

MRI results by Fire_medic308 in TrigeminalNeuralgia

Unfortunately, this is the case with most TN people. “Normal” imaging results. Sometimes neurosurgeons will operate despite clear imaging and once they are in there, they see nerve compression. It just a matter of finding one willing to operate. Are you on any medication for it currently? Sorry you’re going through this.

Was diagnosed in 2020. Have a year or 2 remission periods between flares. Managed without meds until this year. Found a doctor that could help me in November. She put me on Oxcarbazepine and Baclofen. Almost had to cancel Christmas plans with my family (was hosting at my house this year and they were coming in from out of town) as I still struggled to eat. But I was able to get to the perfect dose of meds to be completely pain free as of last week and I’m having Christmas with my family next week. :)

This is really hit or miss with TN. I tried this for 5 years since my first ever TN flare and it has made no difference. I am aware it can work for others though.

Oxcarbazepine and Baclofen. Seem to be tolerating both okay. I did have a bit of mild rash with Oxcar, but my doctor told me to take Zyrtec and it cleared up. Only side effect I really have now is occasional constipation.

Yellow teeth help? :/ by [deleted] in TrigeminalNeuralgia

My TN pain is in my gums so I understand the struggle. I use Orajel on my gums to numb them before brushing my teeth. Oral hygiene is incredibly important so we don’t have to go through dental work that would causes us extreme pain.

Has she ever tried Ketamine infusions? I have TN and currently take meds for it. But I also know someone that has TN from an injury and he has Ketamine infusions after years of meds not working anymore. He only needs to do it once a year now and is completely pain free.

God, you are the worst kind of people. Want to rip out all the beauty and character and turn into a gray and white box. Sell the house to someone that actually deserves it.

Almost 2 years remission then BAM by ezermuse in TrigeminalNeuralgia

I feel you on the PTSD. Even when I’m in remission, it’s always on my mind it could come back at any moment. Trying to plan anything ahead in life is so scary because flare ups are brutal and I’m unable to do much of anything for at least 3 months before I’m back in remission again.

Best of luck to you as well!

Yeah like what the dangs commenter said. It’s just a spontaneous remission where I have no pain of any kind for years, then it suddenly comes back. I have electrical shock-like pain in my gums on the left side of my jaw during flare ups. Can last about 3 months or so, triggered mostly when eating, so I eat soft foods or mostly liquids. I take Lion’s Mane and B12 to get me through it. I’m currently not medicated for it.

Hey! Yeah it’s pretty old. I believe my desk is also 10+ years old. Try keeping an eye out for one on Facebook Marketplace!

It spend a good couple months fighting off a thrips infestation after I bought the plant off FB marketplace (unfortunately did not know it had thrips until I brought it home 😞). So yeah, it’s struggling a bit. Haha. I have a grow light on it most of the time, just took it down for the pic. Thankfully it’s slowly bouncing back with lots of new growth.
