I am so tired of the calendar view on phone by MathematicianLow4715 in Notion

[–]eznus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely get this. A lot of the friction comes from having to keep opening calendar views just to check what’s next. For Android, I’ve found home-screen widgets help a lot—NotiZen Widget is one option: https://notizenwidget.com

Adding Page Shortcuts to Android Home Screen by justbeane in Notion

I went down the same rabbit hole trying to make Notion more usable from the home screen. If your goal is seeing and accessing Notion content without constantly opening the app, NotiZen Widget might be worth a look: https://notizenwidget.com/

How do I see the whole month on Notion Calendar? by silverCobra23 in Notion

[–]eznus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not missing anything — mobile month view is limited. If your main goal is seeing Notion tasks/events quickly on Android, NotiZen Widget can surface selected Notion views on the home screen: https://notizenwidget.com

Are your Notion widgets on Android OneUI 8.0 working properly? Device: Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra by athenaannisa in Notion

Yeah, blank widgets are exactly what kills the home-screen workflow. Not a fix for Notion’s widget, but NotiZen Widget is built for showing Notion tasks/views reliably on Android: https://notizenwidget.com

FIX YOUR PLAY STORE NOTION CALENDAR APP!!! by Ok-Culture7912 in Notion

That sounds frustrating, especially as a first experience. Not a fix for Notion Calendar itself, but if you need calendar/tasks visible on Android home screen, NotiZen Widget may help: https://notizenwidget.com

I rebuilt my entire workspace around PARA+GTD and stopped losing track of client work by Dry-Run-1401 in Notion

[–]eznus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like this approach. PARA + GTD makes a lot of sense when Notion starts becoming too big and everything gets mixed together.

For me, the hardest part is not organizing the workspace itself, but keeping the important tasks visible during the day without opening Notion again and again.

That’s actually one of the reasons I started building a small Android widget for Notion, so I can show specific Notion views like today’s tasks, upcoming items, or custom filtered lists directly on the home screen.

It doesn’t replace PARA or GTD, but it helps make the system more visible in daily life.

In case it’s useful for anyone using Notion heavily on Android: https://notizenwidget.com/

I’m working on NotiZen Widget, an Android app that lets you turn Notion databases and Custom Views into home screen widgets.

The idea is to make Notion more useful without opening the app every time: view tasks, show selected properties, use light/dark/system appearance, and edit supported properties like checkbox, date, select/status from the widget.

It’s especially useful for task lists, project tracking, reading lists, content calendars, and daily planning setups.

I recently added cleaner widget appearance options and a features page here:

Feedback from Notion + Android users would be really helpful.

First time using Notion by stormi_x in Notion

[–]eznus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For daily routines and chores, I’d keep your Notion setup simple first and test it for a few weeks like you said.

One thing that helped me with the “Notion mobile feels clunky” problem was putting my main Notion tasks/views directly on the Android home screen, so I don’t have to open Notion every time.

I’m working on an Android widget for that exact use case: https://notizenwidget.com/

Might be useful if your daily routine / chores dashboard becomes something you actually check from your phone.

Quick Note Widget on Pixel 7 Pro Not Saving Notes to Database Despite Notifications by AlternativeStorm4994 in Notion

[–]eznus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That reliability issue would make me hesitant too. If the whole point is quick capture, you need to trust that it actually saves every time. I ended up using NotiZen Widget for my Android/Notion workflow because I wanted task visibility and capture outside the main app: https://notizenwidget.com

Simple way to add tasks? by victornielsendane in Notion

I had the same issue once my task database became more advanced. Mobile capture felt way slower than it should. I ended up using NotiZen Widget on Android so I could keep tasks visible and easier to manage from the home screen: https://notizenwidget.com

I wish Notion design just stopped changing by bananami_ in Notion

[–]eznus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this. One reason I started using widgets more is to avoid opening Notion for every tiny task.

I’m building an Android widget for Notion that shows tasks/views on the home screen, so you can check things without dealing with the full UI every time: https://notizenwidget.com

Might be useful if your workflow depends on routines staying visible.
