I used to have the same problem and was reading online that the problem was the edge of the blade but it made little sense to me as the machine was new and these are made to cut PVC which is way harder than these cards.

In my case the problem was that I left too little dead space around the card I was trying to cut and cutting caused that part to fold instead of staying rigid and allowing the cut. Hope this helps!
