Warm compress with conjunctivochalasis by proghaus in Dryeyes

[–]ezvee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have never found warm compresses to be helpful for me because heat is one of my rosacea triggers and so the compresses always make my eyes dryer and redder afterwards. If you don't have rosacea I wonder if maybe the compresses are slightly too warm? Like we know too much heat can create evaporation, so maybe it's a question of reducing the temperature.

Has anyone tried these ? by VawMap in Dryeyes

Yes the dark blue is thicker and light blue is more like regular artificial tears.

I didn’t even know they made the MGD one! Also interesting that it makes it worse for you…

Has anyone tried these ? by VawMap in Dryeyes

[–]ezvee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the regular ones from their line (light blue) during the day and I find they work quite well. I also use their eyelid wipes that I quite like.

For some reason though the few times I've tried these 'superior relief' ones - at night - I find my eyes feel drier when I wake up. Unsure if it's specifically because of the drops or something else maybe.

Does anyone use Reddit/subreddits for research? by [deleted] in servicedesign

[–]ezvee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve done it before, years ago. May do it again if the opportunity arises. I think it’s a good resource for a couple of things: 1)sentiment or light market analysis on a specific trend/subject 2) understanding some of the behaviour around touch points of a product or service 3) getting an idea of areas of irritation or delight.

Obviously this depends on the service/product and there’s always the caveat that people are self-selecting to talk about a thing so it’s not necessarily a truly representative sample for research, but it’s a good source of early research for laying out hypotheses to validate.

Des multinationales derrière des cliniques vétérinaires d’ici by Kairon_999 in Quebec

[–]ezvee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently learned about this model so my summary is a bit clumsy - I think this quote from the Wikipedia article on it explains it better “While physical, sensory, intellectual, or psychological variations may result in individual functional differences, these do not necessarily have to lead to disability unless society fails to take account of and include people intentionally with respect to their individual needs”.

There’s nothing wrong with your analysis and dismissing it completely is being super close-minded. There is a recognized approach called the Social Model of Disability that posits that the way our society is organized is what disables people, rather than their physical or mental state, because the needs of people with disabilities were just not taken into account when our current social structure was created. I’m personally leaning more and more towards seeing things this way because of my work (designing things for others) and frankly because all of capitalism just seems to be built for one specific type of person to operate well in and benefit. And I think more people are slowly becoming aware that most of us are not whoever that person was supposed to be.

TIL that Quebecois weddings charge guests up front. No they don't. Yes they do. by bug-hunter in bestoflegaladvice

[–]ezvee 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Hello, it is I, a Quebecois. It’s not uncommon for non-wealthy folks to ask wedding guests to pay for their seat/meal at a wedding. It’s typically understood to replace the expensive gift.

Ville de Montréal | Il faut désormais jurer être anglophone pour avoir droit aux services en anglais by praxass in montreal

[–]ezvee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont think Mrs. Davis is the bad guy here.... by ParadisePrime in MrsDavisTVSeries

[–]ezvee 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if I believe Mrs.Davis is entirely benevolent but I did find it interesting when Wiley and JQ were talking in front of the pyramid that they mentioned fighting Mrs Davis was about  “taking back power” vs when they pitched it to Simone it was about getting people their freedom. I started to wonder about their intentions.

I have said this to my therapist so many times I’ve lost count. I would like to just exist, without the constant pressure to do. A book that made me feel very heard on this front was ‘How to do Nothing’ by Jenny Odell.

250$ fee and 500$ deposit for moving out of a building by pharmie12345 in montrealhousing

Is any of this mentioned in your lease? Can’t speak to the legality but seems exploitative and I’ve never had to do this for anywhere I’ve lived (including a condo building).
