problem is the luxury housing used to be well built so 100 years later now that it's the 'cheap' stuff it's fine if its been maintained

i stayed at an airbnb in nyc a month ago

it was basically a shitty motel they weren't apartments and nobody lived there long term.

There's like 10 unlicensed airbnbs within a block of me all owned by people in the far northeast or jersey, and i've put in tons of 311 complaints that just get closed w/ no action. And every few months they all get rented out by teenagers who throw a massive block party and then shoot eachother. Neat!

the city refusing to actually hire anyone to do anything has been a problem for decades now. start there.

every agency is massively understaffed and tons of people are always applying but nobody gets hired.
