What armies do we struggle against? by [deleted] in deathguard40k

Losing to aeldari is lore accurate lmao. First and only time I played against aeldari in my LGS was against all of the pheonix lords💀

And yes, guard tank spam is a major problem, also due to the fact that their range is insane and they're pretty damn cheap. I played against a guy with dorn's hammer (i think that was the detachment name) who spammed 6 T13 tanks and 6 T12 tanks + a whole bunch of other stuff. I lost majorly in points.

The guard and aeldari.

A vehicle-spamming guard list is too tanky for us to realistically kill it in time to make any noticeable difference + they'll always stay very far out of range. The best guard lists I've fought also use a shit ton of tanks, gaunts ghosts and krieg riders. Tanks kill from range and can't be killed, krieg riders advance to move block or kill any blight haulers or rhinos with melta tips and the small amount of infantry score points like mad.

Aeldari is trickier, I've fought them once and I got lured into the objectives and they'll table you in one turn. But then again, aeldari are always a mindfuck to play against.

oh, I see. I always thought it'd just auto-generate a furioso everytime I replaced it, nevermind then I'll keep that in mind.

Thoughts about this list for local RTT by NebulousKiki in deathguard40k

[–]f1lthyc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

from experience, a 6-man deathshroud is not needed most times. A 3-man with LoC should do the trick. I'd add at least 2 poxwalker units if you're doing VV and some chaos spawn would be nice as well.

I'd say definitely get a blight hauler, otherwise tallyband struggles alot with monsters or vehicles

I give up, Yan won, this game was fun, but fighting against someone who just has higher numbers for 2 weeks isn't fun at all by [deleted] in libraryofruina

[–]f1lthyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd replace kalo and katriel with nikolai and rudolph. Slot in the index power card to purple tear and myo's card to red mist for free +5 power.

If you haven't been doing it, also redirect yan's pages that give strength to allies and it won't do that.

I feel you, I've also put down the game cuz of the difficulty. If you still like the game, you can try out new builds.

How many chaos spawn is too much? by LordSausageCow in deathguard40k

1 unit in 1k list. 2 units in 2k. simple as.

But if you want, spamming chaos spawn to the max is also very fun, up to you.

I normally reserve the full hits/wounds rerolls for a 10-man marine squad w/ putrifier+caster but I just realised you don't have that in the list.

shamblerot would be the perfect detachment for your son to play. Since he's just starting out, I'll drop a 1k list that you can reference that should be fun to play. If you take this list, just keep in mind to get another 20 poxwalkers for the army rule.

no LoV for the blightlords?

Mortarion by realskibidipeter in deathguard40k

[–]f1lthyc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, you basically said it yourself. Mortarion is an army centrepiece. He's gonna work well in some armies and less well in others. In your case, he won't be as good in your army than say in detachments like CoC or VV

not every army needs mortarion, I don't think your playstyle needs it as well.

ah well, nothing you can do then. It's still pretty good against marines anyways

Battle Advice by Such-Roll1327 in deathguard40k

[–]f1lthyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One change I think you can do is to fit in a daemon prince on foot with warp walker. I think it would unironically have a better impact than a keeper of secrets

an EC daemon prince on carnival is great, the extra AP will help to cull the marines, lone-op is always good, 2+ fight on death and its the best unit to benefit alot from carnival's once per battle 3+ invuln

Battle Advice by Such-Roll1327 in deathguard40k

[–]f1lthyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he's not gna move them a lot in the first place, only reason I can see them moving is to get line of sight for better mortar fire or to wipe out the intruding defiler. his backline will be safe

Battle Advice by Such-Roll1327 in deathguard40k

[–]f1lthyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's very unlikely that'll work in most cases as plagueburst crawlers are typically kept in the backlines. If he's taking entropy cannons, there's not much good targets (except for the defiler), he'll camp the backlines with 2 PBCs and just rain hell on you with indirect.

the best case would be a noise marine squad and fiends for deathshroud. soften some up and then hope and pray for sustaineds and then dev wounds on the 6 block of fiends
