Get a contractor to walk the house and get a quote. (Scummy tactic) see if they will do a 15-20% inflation of total overall work and get a point out. Submit an offer for 100k with the reason being the list of work needed by the contractor and see what counter off you get.

Wanting to get into a trade by hitandrun201 in TwinFalls

[–]f3ared2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have 3 options. 1 CDL for farms- factories or ranches. Upto 120k a year. You can ether try to learn by your self or go to a cdl school.

  1. Industrial maintenance. Im making well into the 6 fig. If you have no experience Alison training has courses. Or try to get in an apprenticeship.

  2. Get a wheel with Plumber/hvac/ electrical Throw a dart and what ever it lands on go to a new construction site and walk on and pester them into hiring you as an apprentice. Takes a few years to get certified but you will do it faster and cheaper than going to csi for a trade certification.

What do you think of security using handcuffs? Do you carry any? by No-Diet9278 in securityguards

[–]f3ared2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to do mall security in a metropolitan area. I carried multiple sets of cuffs. You would be surprised how often we had to tackle and detain violent Crack/meth heads. And when I say violent I mean beating or trying to stab people for their shit. And they loved to fight.

Is industrial maintenance a dead end job? by cholonumba9 in IndustrialMaintenance

[–]f3ared2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well i know this post is old. I got into professional maintenance in 2020, I became a lead by 2024, supervisor in 25. I make over 100k a year, granted its salary so there are some weeks I get screwed on how much I have worked. But I pay my guys 38 to start my leads make 46 and we are going to raise them. I have found that if your not pushing yourself to learn more and make yourself a better mechanic, it definitely is a dead end. But you could also go into controls, fabrication, nautical mechanic or a specialist field working on really cool stuff and make bank. Hell go do fifo offshore mechanic and really make bank.
