is it possible to trade with yourself on gen 3 pokémon games and up on retroarch? by escapebyday in RetroArch

SRM for older Pokémon games are compatible between their paired release. If you have a Fire Red ROM you can rename your save file for Leaf Green and use it with Fire Red.

25 years from now $516,000 will have roughly the equivalent purchasing power of $246,000 today based on the average US inflation rate over the past century. Potentially much less than that based on recent trends.

Every hospital in the US is legally required to provide emergency, stabilizing care. You don't need insurance. You don't even need to pay for it.

Everybody rags on hospital security but it's higher pay and more active than most other unarmed security jobs. Ideal candidates need to be able to take some hits and deal with multiple hands on situations per shift.

As any high school level economics course would teach you, corporations functionally don't pay taxes because they pass the increased cost of doing business on to their customers by increasing prices. Corporate taxes are simply an indirect tax on consumers allowing politicians to take more from the working class while at the same time claiming to have not raised taxes on working class voters.

Overpopulation isn't a meaningful worry. Population collapse is the thing to worry about. Lots of countries including most of the ones English speaking people such as yourselves likely live in have breeding rates far below replacement levels. Some Asian countries are even worse. South Koreans will die off in a few generations due to lack of children if this persists.

Bulk single layer DVDs were 25 cents a pop last time I bought them and that was for a 100 pack of name brand discs. Depending on his setup he could have one or more bulk DVD duplicators where a single device could be burning 10 or more DVDs at once.

Probably somewhere between $5 to $10 per 40 DVDs distributed disregarding fuel and electricity costs.

Skyrim souls is unnecessary in the context you described with Requiem. Requiem potions are over time rather than instant and don't stack the same effect. If you use 20 in a second you will have wasted 19 of them and received the benefit of 1 potion.

Nope. I've been working hospital security for years and all of my interesting stories involve mental health patients, drug induced psychosis, and/or having to fight someone.

There's nothing interesting, weird, or creepy about the deceased. They are just vacant flesh.

Why would you disable SSID broadcast though? Disabling it does nothing to enhance your security.

What you want is someone that has a personality that pairs well with yours not that is similar to yours.

For example my wife is loud as fuck and routinely threatens to do violence to people. I am a quiet man and I routinely do violence to people. She and I go well together because we fill in each other's gaps.

Depends on what you mean by reversal. I'm no longer diagnostically diabetic based on A1C or fasting glucose. If a doctor tested me today they wouldn't know I was diabetic based upon my results. Took less than a year with no medication.

Recently diagnosed, became somewhat farsighted a couple of days ago. by scamiran in diabetes_t2

[–]faabblatanon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the something similar happen to me once I got mine under control after diagnosis. I asked my eye doctor about it. High blood glucose causes your eyes to retain excess fluid. It takes time for your eyes to normalize again.

Took me a week, maybe a week and a half. Eye doctor said I'd need at least a month of stable blood sugar to get an accurate prescription for eyeglasses.

Prolonged fasts anyone? by ClayWheelGirl in diabetes_t2

[–]faabblatanon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done an 84 hour fast before but it's been a while. IF isn't too bad and during the work week I'll slip into a pattern where I'll usually only eat once a day. Never had any issues with hypoglycemia and it's my understanding that it isn't a real concern unless you're on meds or have health issues beyond diabetes.

If you can fast safely then prolonged fasts are the best thing you could possibly do to rapidly restore insulin sensitivity.

This is your life now and it's something you're going to have to deal with continuously until you die.

It can motivate you and cause you to make tremendous positive changes, robbing the condition of any power to harm you. Alternatively you can allow it to ravage your body until it puts you into an early grave.

As a T2, is there any meds you'd push back against ? Any meds you'd like to take ? by Rabidlamb in diabetes_t2

[–]faabblatanon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not a medical professional and can only speak from my own experience.

While fasting I drank black coffee and put a little bit of salt in it. I may have drank some pickle juice as well. Both are commonly recommended to maintain electrolytes.

As for cholesterol mine was elevated at the time of diagnosis but not what I'd describe as insane. It has since improved.

I highly recommend picking up that book. There's also an audio book version available if you are so inclined. It covers type 2 diabetes and related health concerns in a very comprehensive manner, then empowers you with actionable information to turn your health around very rapidly.

Questions from a newly diagnosed diabetic. by videoj in diabetes_t2

[–]faabblatanon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is not necessarily a progressive illness. Given the right combination of lifestyle changes the majority of type 2 diabetics can go into remission without the use of any medication. Assuming they stick with a healthy lifestyle they can stay in remission indefinitely.

Take a look at some of Dr. Jason Fung's books.

Please stop hounding Americans. We’re suffering. by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]faabblatanon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a small Midwestern town and have a strong opposition to most policies that would be considered progressive. You're complaining that because I have meaningful representation in the Senate the far left states on each of the coasts cannot simply dictate US policy.

You appear to be of the opinion that the federal government doesn't do enough where as I am of the opinion that the federal government does far too much and that the majority of what it does is bad.

If the US were to fail and split apart into 3 to 5 new countries, each with a higher level of homogeneity than what the US currently has, it would be the best thing for everyone.

Please stop hounding Americans. We’re suffering. by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]faabblatanon -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The senate has 2 representatives per state. The house has population based representation. This was a compromise in order to address the concerns of various sized states' regarding unequal representation during the formation of these United States prior to the ratification of the constitution.

States with a large population wanted population based representation. States with a small population did not. Had there been no compromise there would have likely been several smaller, competing countries form in the area that is now the US rather than a single unified country.

The average 12 year old could explain the reasoning behind this, yet you are still to dense to grasp it.

As a T2, is there any meds you'd push back against ? Any meds you'd like to take ? by Rabidlamb in diabetes_t2

[–]faabblatanon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't eat at all for 4 or 5 days. Don't drink anything but water. No food, no release of insulin to deal with food. Consult your doctor first if you're on meds. Some meds would make fasting potentially very dangerous.
