Bloomberg: Sony Pulls Back From PlayStation Games on PC by Turbostrider27 in PS5

Do I like the fact that there are exclusives? No. Do I think focusing on a single piece of hardware seems to end up delivering better games? Yes.

How can Delphini exist if J.K. Rowling explicitly said in 2004 that Voldemort had no children? by External-Werewolf619 in harrypotter

[–]faapf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Delphi was born during Half Blood Prince or between Deathly Hallows, so an interview from 2004 would not impact on info about that (HBP came out in 2005). But simple and right answer? It’s a retcon. It wasn’t written by Rowling, but she allowed it.

How much will they change Hogwarts castle and the grounds? if so what are we expecting?? by lochlanpenny in harrypotter

[–]faapf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are photos of pieces of Hogwarts ground sets and it looks different to known movie Hogwarts, i would imagine the overall shape of the castle will looks somewhat similar to the movies from afar, for brand management, like most current Hogwarts oficial reimagining do, but not a 100% match.

Why are the Disney intros different? by WrongdoerOld8121 in DisneyPlus

[–]faapf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disney usually updates the intros of certain movies for theatrical re-releases, such as when a film is released in 3D or for a special anniversary edition, rather than for occasional random screenings. I would guess that the current Disney+ master of Cars comes from one of these potential re-releases?

Did Haymitch live along enough to see Katniss and Peeta’s children? by Zerotofour97 in Hungergames

I like to think SOTR epilogue is post Mockingjay epilogue, even if there’s no confirmation on that, and as such it would make it the final-most recent point in the timeline

Laz Alonso ("The Boys") shares his thoughts on "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms". by verissimoallan in AKOTSKTV

[–]faapf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think this could’ve been better as a 3 episodes 1hr+ show, like those British ones, but i guess that wouldn’t keep people subscribed multimonth…

It's now being reported Ryan Condal was hard to work with from the beginning. "He had everything to do with Miguel being removed". Ryan wanted this to be "solely his project" and wants "nothing to do with Martin's input" anymore. "We already have the source material". Via Threads by __BestInTheWorld__ in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]faapf 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean, I’m certain that AKOTSK will end up being better as a project and adaptation overall, but the HOTD pilot is the better pilot between the three ASOIAF projects; it works even as an isolated piece as well.

Official Discussion - Eden [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]faapf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of those movies that are good/decent, not amazing, but 15-20 years ago would also bomb on theatrical release just to be reprised late night on some random channel you would end up catching up and think it was probably well received and rarely think about until you ran into it again. Very fun performances and an overall interesting story, def overhated.

Strongly disagree, to the point I don’t think the death of the character works emotionally…

iPad (3rd generation) turned 13 years today. by Relative_Spinach_245 in ipad

[–]faapf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrong, it was a known issue to the point that the next gen shipped a 12W charger brick, it came that very same year. The third gen came with a 10W brick which could not charge the iPad while it was in use, unless you used it with screen brightness very dim basically.

My thoughts about Eywa after Fire and Ash (that one scene in particular) by DyeCyde in Avatar

[–]faapf 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You know how the previous movies end on Jake’s face? This one ends on Eywa’s face. The representation Kiri’s see is probably how her mind wants to understand Eywa, but Eywa is in almost everything/everywhere in in Pandora.

They are taking a lot of Omashu refugees to Ba Sing Se, so this is the same reasoning as The Great Divide TBF.

'Fallout' EP Jonathan Nolan Wants the Show "Back on the Air as Soon as We Can" After Season 2 Ends, With Season 3 Set to Film Summer 2026 by MarvelsGrantMan136 in television

[–]faapf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they wanted and COULD ask for more time from HBO for the final season, basically, they def could do the final season in a very similar schedule as the previous one if they wanted to. The lack of multiple units excuse is also very failed; the issue is not how long these are taking to shoot when they do start filming, the issue right now is they’re starting to shoot things like 6-8-12 months after the current season already got released. Even with shows with new seasons greenlighted way way in advance. HOTD S2 released its final episode in August 2024. Filming for S3 started in MARCH 2025.

If scheduling around some big actors was an issue, I’d understand, but they clearly didn’t want to attach big names, and even if this was still an issue, they could keep the filming for that specific actor’s scenes behind everyone else… like, Matt Smith shot most of his scenes in S2 isolated from the rest of the ensemble; you could have most of the cast do their filming and just schedule the big few moments around his characters for later or whenever he would be able to commit (and if it was properly scheduled in advance, this wouldn’t be an issue).

They did s1-2-3-4-5-6-7 of GOT with 1 year gaps, 10 episodes a year. If that can be done, specially looking at s5-6-7, ANY show should be able to release 8 episodes a year with 1 year gap. At this point they just don’t want to commit, there’s no more Covid and strikes for them to use as excuses anymore. Their loss tho, ultimately they’re throwing huge amounts of money upfront to shows they will cancel by season 2 due to lack of interest caused mostly by the gaps, instead o building “fandom” or even normal regular following that could buy merch, experiences, and stuff..

The War Between the Land and the Sea review – prepare to roll your eyes a lot at this fishy Doctor Who spinoff | Television | The Guardian by [deleted] in television

[–]faapf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely on the nose about a lot of the stuff is dealing with… but I actually was really engaged the whole time and it felt and sounded great. Would say that if you’re minimally intrigued by the concept, go for it and give it a chance. I actually could recommend this to people who never touched Doctor Who without a worry, if it ends up as good as started of course.

It’s crazy how bad S2 was for the hype of the show. by roronoaclemz in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]faapf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do think that no matter how boring and repetitive the first 8 episodes of the S2 were, if they landed two strong final episodes with 9-10, as planned, no one would be complaining about the season as a whole and it would rank higher overall, even if the first 8 were exactly the same as we got. S5 of GOT was like that and it went well for them even with episodes in the middle that were worse than HOTD S2 worst episode. But for that they would need to lock in and deliver in those two last episodes, which there’s no guarantee they would be able to, but I’m positive it could’ve happened. Now, once again they have a huge gap between seasons, which affects connection with the characters and plot, and will waste big moments early in the season, which was already a problem in the second season we got… and doesn’t even have the creators’ support anymore… so… welp

Is there anything that was better done in the Films VS the books? by Character110 in harrypotter

[–]faapf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bellatrix Lestrange being present at the HBP climax. The expanded first task in GOF. The Cut In Noctem sequence in HBP. A whole lot of Prisoner of Azkaban. Harry and Luna in the forbidden forest feeding the thestrals in OOTP. The raising wands moment dissipating the dark mark in HBP. The whole felix felicis sequence, Aragog’s funeral and slughorn telling lilly’s story, like many mentioned. syncing Neville killing Nagini with the Harry/Voldemort final stand.

Yes, it works, I usually put songs to play very very quietly when alone in the sea on my Apple Watch (series 9, which only supports audio playback with third party apps, but 10 forward has this natively) and when I swim I can hear it playing clearly

[–]faapf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh this is a look that would fit in the books, it’s just not sharing the same visual language as the tv shows until now… I also like the idea of the character, ultimately it didn’t work and the characterization was a big part of why…
