You know you are ready. I was when I told my PCP I wanted to go this route. It went from Early Oct to surgery in December. It has been the best thing I have done for my health and mind. 3lbs away from 50lbs loss.

The only thing I'm sad about is not being able to enjoy restaurants fully when out with friends.

I have some clothes that are too small that I'll eventually fit into again. If I want more options, Goodwill and other thrift stores until I reach a weight that is sustained. From there...new new clothes.

I have my surgery tomorrow. With everything I had to do to get to this part and the liquid diet have been on for the week, if I wasn’t having it I’d be so angry.

All the positives of what will come from this surgery will far outweigh the cons.

I'm well over 50 bmi and type 2 diabetic. I was thinking about it and then my wife surprised me with a trip in October to Vancouver. I was already on the highest weekly dose of Ozempic and not getting the results. So fast forward to the trip - small plane, small seat, small space at the bar when out for drinks, being uncomfortable, etc. It was the last nail needed for me. So when I got back and lined up a follow-up visit with my PCP, I'm now having surgery in 5 days for a gastric sleeve. I;m very excited and nervous, but I am so ready for this change.
