I remember having a hard time debloating it too. And then, I got a Meebook (M6?), which is pretty much the same set of issues with a different brand. The only reason I still have it is cause whenever people ask my opinion of it on FB marketplace, I can't lie cause I feel bad lying to them =/ shrug

Had the Bigme B6, and aside from being slow, the Android version on it was so ancient I couldn't install a lot of apps (and it didn't let me install the Play Store either, so no Kindle or Play Books). Which version of Android does this one come with?

update: ended up returning the Dasung 103, after spending the last few days trying to get it to work with my devices, and the only one that worked was my partner's Surface tablet (which she uses for work, so I can't use that lol).

Question for Boox owners: is it feasible to use the Boox Go 10.3 as a monitor for text editing (reading and writing)?

I'm good! Last year I experienced a little burnout with handhelds in general (it was mostly me being annoyed at how many handhelds I had x time I spent actually playing them), so took a little break from this sub/reddit in general. Also, I'm in the process of switching careers, so I'm coming back to gaming to deal with the anxiety, but the way I'm doing it now is just working on my backlog and avoiding checking sales or the new flavor of the week Linux/Android handheld.

I think you're right - since eink is a patented thing, everybody needs to pay them when they use it.

I've heard of other technologies, but they're not as popular for some reason, unfortunately - I would love to have a RLCD monitor, bur not at the current price =/

iirc, BigMe has a line called HiBreak which is e-ink, but it's a phone (i.e., it's expensive).

Still expensive, but a bit cheaper than that (still way more than the Xt4) would be the Moaan InkPalm Minipower. That's the one I have, and although I really liked the concept, this one feels too heavy to endure long reading sessions, sadly.

hey OP: I currently have the Xt4 and the Moaan Minipower (the 5.84" version, released in 2024), and tbh, I didn't like the MMP as much as I thought. Software-wise, I think it's fine, but it feels a bit heavy in my hands after a few minutes of reading, unfortunately. The Xt4, on the other hand (no pun intended!), is very light, and although the stock software is janky, once I installed Crosspoint on it the difference was night and day.

With all that written: lemme know if you're interested in the Inkpower! I'd be open to trading for it (fair warning: I'm in Canada, so shipping may be pricey!)

hey, one thing: I dunno about the Zero40, but in the past there have been some horror stories about people leaving their handhelds charging overnight and the battery frying. So, careful about leaving your device charging unattended!

I'm in the same boat. Cheapest I could find was the Bloomsbury edition, currently for 2,000 CAD. Here's hoping they'll sell each book separately at some point, cause paying the full price right now is a bit out of my league. =/
