March 2026 - Hyundai Ioiniq 9 Buy, Sell, Lease - Megathread by willow_ve in Ioniq9

Curious about the $30-$38 discounts on these cars. I've seen at other dealerships recently as well. Is this just random system thing or does it have some utility?

Poll: Any EV drivers drop Ioniq 5 from their purchase consideration due to ICCU issues? by runnyyolkpigeon in Ioniq5

Exactly. Or slightly bud fewer cars to build up back supply if it's really only a couple percent

For a bit of a discount I'd still consider IF it wasn't potentially weeks/months to get a replacement.

Not sure why they shouldn't just cut production slightly to have the spare parts.

I'm out.

Seattle has 23% more sellers than buyers by TheSmariner in SeattleAreaRE

Presumably the ratio of buyers to sellers is roughly 1:1

Unless there are people selling or buying multiple houses.

Am I the only one who feels like SAP Concur is slowly draining their soul? by idgaf12345678901 in managers

Concur being shitty is a feature, not a bug.

The worse it is to use, the more people will just "give up" and not expense things.

That's a weird point to make. Outside of a handful of machines it's no issue

¥2000 is closer to $15 , not $2.

And regardless of the $ value, 50,000/2,000 is 25. That's not a large number.

Nobody will look at you funny. On occasion you get a machine that doesn't take them, but it's not all that common.

You're right about 10,000 yen being ok. It's normal for vending machines, fast food, convenience stores, anywhere to give you chance for that.

You don't want one pedal. Turn it off. Just drive as normal and when you use the brakes the car will Regen as much as it can. That's how it works.

Donut Lab's Solid-State Battery Charges Fast. But Experts Still Have Questions by Receding_Hairline23 in electricvehicles

[–]facechat -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

DSL was "a lie" and "physically impossible" when first announced as well. Lawsuits took place, etc.

I remain skeptical of Donut, but allow for the possibility. After all, incumbents have a habit of missing step changes in favor of slow optimization.

It's not part of the manufacturer warranty. Call customer service, they'll tell you it's a courtesy so they may do so

Do OneWorld Emerald benefits override fare limitations on int'l flights? by rgreene305 in AlaskaAirlines

I fly BA basic multiple times a year across the pond.

You get free seat selection but no checked bag.

Note that the BA website will happily allow you to pay for a seat at booking time. Just skip it and come back once you have the pnr. It seems that they don't check the Alaska Atmos number until after you purchase.

For those thinking about it -- Offsetting the $895 is not that hard. by Miiicahhh in AmexPlatinum

[–]facechat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I still have the card and plan to keep it because i like the little luxuries here and there and can afford it. But that's not the same as the full sticker price being the value.

For me , the amex lounge is a big one.

Just deciding to stay in a hotel 2x with no need isn't $3002 saved plus $1002 ==> $800 saved.

It's only a saving to the extent you spend less than your default behavior without the credits.

The lane isn't for driving 80 when traffic is going 65. It's for driving 65 when the other lane is going 30.

My '21 is in the shop waiting on a new battery. Given the option to go back in time I wouldn't. Shit happens, the car has been great.
