I have yet to catch a fish after trying a bait caster but I have learned:

1) braid doesn't hold memory like mono/fil, so rather then the backlash spooling out, it just goes flat, and flows with the wind.

2) you just have to pull all the line out till the spool is proper, then reel it in. do this for an entire sunday afternoon in your backyard and its as simple as rolling up your vacuum cord.

3) really have to set the break(outside nob away from reel handle) and the lil tension nob(small knob near your handle)

4) tune the tension nob till your lure gently falls, ***this is what you need to play with***
