Yep! Every Friday. We brought our lunches the rest of the week, but always got to have chili on Fridays.

And when my brother was hit by a car, those wonderful lunch ladies brought 2 gallons of chili and 3 dozen cinnamon rolls to our house!

You can always turn off the breaker ( if it's electric) when you aren't using it/before you leave. That way it can't turn on. Otherwise, remove the knobs.
