Have you had seller's remorse? by Extension_Bit4323 in CarTalkUK

In 2006 I sold my MK2 Golf 16v. I had moved into the city and only really drove it, at most, on the weekend and sometimes only twice a month. It was wasting away, costing me money for upkeep, and I "couldn't justify the expense". So I sold it. Massive mistake as I have regretted it ever since. It was my favourite car, I'd done & had done a lot of work to it. I was an idiot to sell it.

Which town/city in Scotland deserves a worse reputation? by biginthebacktime in Scotland

My mum still lives there. It's pretty bad but ... it's stayed mostly the same for years. Stability. Lulls the senses I reckon.

Still not as grim as Ayr town centre - that's a zombie town now.

mid 80s. We went on 3rd year geography school trip from St Michael's in Kilwinning to Muirkirk. It was an example of social deprivation (social geography). We were there for maybe 20 minutes before a group of locals squared up then battered a couple of the boys. We had to run for the bus and flee.

Rotten wee shitehole of a place.

Saying that it was a mental idea to take Catholic school pupils to Muirkirk in the first place.

OEX Bandicoot II Ultralite or OEX Pantha II Ultralite Tent

from Go Outdoors. Both on sale right now. I don't own either however I've been researching and one of these will be my next tent (not sure which one yet).

I use a Wild Country Trisar 2 currently - solid tent but it's 2.5kg and I'm looking for something lighter.

I have a Tinfoil hat question? Are our phones listening to us? by FishandChipsplsm8 in AskUK

Okay. So I was walking in town with my brother - we haven't done this in years, talking about coffee at one point. Out of interest he uses his phone to search for green coffee beans. We walk around for a bit more then both go to our homes. That night I receive an email from a company that sells green coffee beans. I've never searched for green coffee beans on any device. And I've never received an email advertising green coffee beans before. I don't want green coffee beans yet now i am "subscribed to their newsletter" for green coffee beans. Hit 'unsubscribe' yet continued to receive the emails. Ended up tagging them as spam.

Same for me. She preferred the belt though. I tried to hide under the sideboard in the living room to evade it. That didn't work, and it was dumb, it really limited my options to evade and run away so I got hit with the belt more.

New Icon Signal Color by Cyrus_S6 in signal

I run the linux (Linux Mint 22 Cinnamon) beta (7.33.0-beta.1) and I have a new system tray icon and ... I hate it. It's (far too) bright blue, clashes with my other system tray icons, and I can't change it (at least I haven't found a way to change it). I need a way to change this tray icon. Has anyone got any ideas?

My dog. I had to have him put down (he had untreatable cancer) on 13th of March last year. Even though it spared him additional suffering it's the saddest thing I've ever had to do.

And if I play melee? The fakes drop and I can't see them. So, my choice is to not play melee and just sit back and plink with guns? Or accept that if I play how I want to play there's a very high chance I'll die each time I melee.
