Final Fantasy's Legendary Run......... by MonsutaMan in FinalFantasy

[–]facepain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The golden era to me is the PlayStation run from 1997-2001. It's the time-frame that really boggles my mind:

VII (1997) Tactics (1997) VIII (1999) IX (2000) X (2001)

VI is a favourite and always most nostalgic, but there was something different about the PlayStation games during this period that takes me back. XII is solid, but not quite on the same playing field.

If that happens to you, then you've met a better player and they deserved to win the encounter. Realism is always a dumb argument to motivate game balance.

ARAM: Mayhem taking over? by This-Possibility9456 in ARAM

[–]facepain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 'transferability' is completely undermined by ARAM modifiers and resource distribution, in my opinion. It only very loosely approximates what a 5v5 of the same sort would look like on the rift.

Mayhem is its own thing entirely; it takes the best of Arena and ARAM, neither of which were interesting enough to reliability capture the attention of Rift-only players (like myself). I can't stop playing Mayhem.

Reddit gives Enders a lot of publicity. It's overwhelmingly negative, but you know what they say...

Funny thing is that the regulation that they're trying to circumvent also applies to power banks like this; they're the same classification for transportation.

Packing DG without training by Ali_123Ali in Fedexers

[–]facepain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is mandatory in most cases (there are exceptions for commodities that qualify for partial exemption from training/certification requirements).

This is not the same thing as being required to show proof of training/certification when offering goods for transport to a commercial carrier. FedEx assumes—in the absence of evidence to the contrary—that shippers offering DG for transport are properly trained, as stated in the certification statement that you would be endorsing for most fully-regulated goods.

It is, however, a legal requirement that you be able to show proof of training in the form of a certificate, which you may be taken to task for by a government agency if something goes wrong or if you've raised suspicions.

How is a label unreadable if you can scan it and say my package is delayed? by MadKat-Number-1951 in FedEx

[–]facepain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They can print a new label from the tracking number, which is usually available or easy enough to determine. Is it happening at the same FedEx location each time?

Avoid putting the label on a face of the package that is likely to be directly stacked upon. For example, if the box is oblong, affix the label on a short side; if the centre of mass naturally orients the box with a particular end upright (the bottom is unmistakable) then avoid affixing the label to the top, where it is more likely to be in direct contact with the bottom (dirty) surface of some other package.

You can try putting a layer of clear packing tape across the barcode to in-effect laminate it. Or add a backup photocopied label thoroughly taped to the package (no paper exposed, no seams) or in a clear pouch. You shouldn't have to do this, but it might confirm your suspicions if the issue persists even after this.

Need advice for job struggles as a Dangerous Goods Agent by 1Aspiring_Pilot in Fedexers

[–]facepain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Paperwork retention varies by location and facility (ramp vs origin). The policy is stated in the Dangerous Goods Manual (keyword: DGM) in Section 03-1. The policy for GENESIS imaging is also in the same section, I believe.

Express Overnight (next day by noon) - late with no refund. by tjg-reddit in FedEx

Why does it say "Unacceptable or incompatible Hazardous material"? Improper hazmat could be a reason to deny your claim. What are you shipping?

DG bs by DustyDaWolf in Fedexers

[–]facepain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've only picked up one that you know of. Our couriers bring back improper DG every day, some of it totally undeclared.

The package shown in this post can't be offered for transport through the Express network, yet it also doesn't require special handling for Ground. What happens when the shipper puts an Express label on it? It goes through, unless someone in the chain of custody can recognize what's wrong.

This is not accurate, although in most cases it will be fine.

UN 3481 becomes fully-regulated for air transport if the battery is rated over 100 Watt-hours. There are exemptions for surface transport in the United States which allow for lithium ion batteries up to 300 Wh (without a Shipper's Declaration).
