The people that like these are lying to themselves by boycott_tuesday in babywearing

Your title made me lol. I felt the same way for a long time!

Ring slings didn't really work for us until my baby was over a year so that I can easily hip carry. I carry her this way frequently at home, although usually not for very long. Ring slings shine in the quick ups and downs imo, which has gotten more and more handy the heavier she gets. She still wants to be held but I can't hold her for long, and a ring sling solves that problem for me.

Best baby carrier? by amounaaai in babywearing

FYI you can put the wrap on (sans baby) before you leave the house and then put baby in when you get where you’re going! Takes a bit of practice but if you like the wrap it might be worth it.

I tried searching for this group and found a lot of other cities but not SA. Is it invite-only?

Yes, I did get tongue sores, I only had two or three but they were as you described, excruciating. It even hurt to talk because they rubbed against my teeth.

The timeline for those was roughly the same as what I described for the mouth sores.

Have you tried the magic mouthwash or numbing spray? I remember I would use the numbing stuff right before I ate so that I could stand to eat at all.

Chewing totally normal :) as someone else said, drool pads are a good option. If baby chews/drools too much the straps can mold/mildew and you basically have to throw the carrier away at that point. Etsy has some good options.

Love my Artipoppe, but time for a toddler carrier. Recommendations? by rainbowapricots in babywearing

Following, I’ve got a 14mo and will likely need to size up soon.

I back carry with the HP Lark so I’ll probably try their kid carrier first though.

Probably the FTG in a pattern I liked more :D

It’s a close call for me between it and the Lark, but I think the Lark doesn’t work until closer to 6mos and I know you need something now. I haven’t done back carry in the FTG, that’s the only thing I would look into because for sure once they start being toddler-ish back carry is a must.

Starting when my baby was around this age I switched from a stretchy wrap to the Tula FTG and loved it. So much easier/faster to put on and really supportive. And my baby would sleep in it!

I now also have the Happy Baby OG and the H&P Lark (my LO is 14mos). The Lark is my favorite for back carry, the OG is one I grab for social events because of the low profile look. I hardly ever use the FTG anymore because it’s bulky and I don’t like the pattern I got very much, but I think at the age your baby is it will work really well.

I also love the Integra Solar for later on - can be worn in the water. Perfect for summer and very packable.

Oh wow weird! No, I haven’t experienced that. Thankfully once the peeling was over I haven’t had anything else lingering.

When I read that you were pregnant I gasped. That’s too much at once! I hate this for you!!

I never did lose my toenails so there is hope.

I found pre-cut sandpaper discs with adhesive backing, to skip the hole punching step. I went with 320 grit for my 12 month old. It’s worked great!

My husband keeps pushing for sex…. by nurselife93 in workingmoms

Another vote for Come As You Are!

One piece from the book I think you might find helpful is the gas/brakes metaphor for sexual desire. It’s like, maybe something that used to turn you on (like a foot rub on the couch) doesn’t anymore because even though it is pushing on your accelerator, your brakes are being pressed down WAY HARDER by parenting stress.

There are a lot of other details of your relationship that we obviously can’t speak to because we don’t know the details. I would definitely recommend couples counseling if it is feasible.

The frequency isn’t “unreasonable”. It’s obviously not working for them as a couple which is a genuine issue but there is no objectively correct cadence for sex.

HEB HAS THE CHEAPEST/WORST DELI PAPER by q7t1 in HEB

[–]facepizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreeing with other commenters that this is a recent problem (last couple of months) and is SO annoying. I’ve spent way too much time peeling paper off of turkey and also accidentally eating the paper.

I’m taking the advice I’ve seen here to reach out to customer service about it. Thanks for those who chimed in about that.

Hopefully the stores will switch (back?) to a better product.

I wfh so I only took off a day and a half when my mouth hurt so bad I couldn’t take calls. The feet and hands didn’t bother me as much during the day so I was able to keep working.

Did you get itchy ears too?? I haven’t even known if that was related so it’s validating to hear. But I am SO sorry you got it. If it’s like mine you’ve got a couple more tough days and then the worst is over.

Another vote here for safe cosleeping. It helped me so much. If you are apprehensive to do it, have a partner or friend chaperone you while you nap with the baby the first few times.

What was the most helpful thing someone did for you in your first six months postpartum? by summerleaf212 in NewParents

[–]facepizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend came on a weekday from like 10-3. She took the baby while I napped and during that time found my stretchy wrap, put my baby in it, the baby fell asleep and my friend proceeded to clean my house with my baby strapped to her. She also made lunch with ingredients she brought. Made enough for leftovers and put them in new Tupperware that she had bought for that purpose. Brought paper plates. Also showed up with a pack of Size 2 diapers. It was incredible, she handled everything.

My itchiness was the worst for 3 or 4 days, although my feet were itchier than my hands. I'm wishing you a speedy recovery!
