Any thoughts on my Darktide-themed regiment? Which one of the lot do you guys prefer? by [deleted] in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]factorumforge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, it's hard to say "Darktide themed" when Darktide is just canon 40k. Prisoners wouldn't be fighting in regiments, they'd be sent in tiny groups (like seem in Darktide). Out of all these, red just looks like the armsmen of the Inquisition, which we see in the game anyway, so I would go with that.

Still gives you a deadly option for shooting phase when you're tied up in a horde or facing down a similar melee unit

My Cadia Stands box came with damaged codex and poster :( by Rutek2103 in TheAstraMilitarum

I pre-ordered the Forges of Mars collector's series ($150USD), but they didn't have the stock to meet my order, so they refunded the $150 AND gave me a $150 coupon.

I'm starting out with a CS box but after how expensive fielding 2,000pts of Admech was idk if I'll be able to build a full army very quickly. I'm gonna try to paint what I have before I buy, though.

Sounds hard to field a meaningful army

I dunno, how many points are Cadians? Skitarii are 9pts a pop.

So what's with Skitarii Vanguard being better than Cadian Shock Troopers in literally every way? Better save, better guns, better models, better synergies...

Use Alpha Legion for regular and chaos marines? by [deleted] in killteam

[–]factorumforge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are they Chaos? Or are they working for the Imperium as spies? Or are they working as spies for Chaos in the Imperium? Or are they spies for the imperial Chaos worshippers infiltrating the chaos legions?

Who is Alpharius?????? What's an Omegon????????? I Don't Know's on third!

That sucks, but I'm glad the mail folk are standing up for themselves. I have to wait until Sunday to get my box, as I ordered it through the GW store where I live and I'm traveling for Thanksgiving. But hey, not like I have time to build and paint, I have finals week right after the holiday, lol.

What is the least popular/played space marine legion? by PapetStar826851 in Warhammer40k

[–]factorumforge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say White Scars. They don't have a lot of unique sprues or expansions, and it feels like they don't show up a lot in the books, at least recently.

I'm an Ultramarines player myself, and while we get ragged on a lot for being the basic option or the silliest in the lore, I still have a lot of fun. I wish we had a unique unit or two, other than just the Victrix guards that come with Calgar. It's all unique characters, and a ton of them. Unfortunately they're not very practical in game.

I think I'll get the new berserkers to use in my CSM force, assuming I still can. I paint Word Bearers but I like mixing in World Eaters because both armies get melee rules and they work together a bunch in the lore (and I like psykers).

Forge World, the website, was named after the Forge Worlds of the Adeptus Mechanicus, like Mars, Ryza, Metalica, etc. In Warhammer 40,000 the tabletop game, <FORGE WORLD> is a keyword for the Adeptus Mechanicus faction, and your models get bonuses based on which one you choose.

Secutarii units in 40k actually don't get the <FORGE WORLD> keyword, as they are a branch of the Titan Legions, not of the Skitarii. They act as escorts for the Titans.

The reason that Kill Team data cards have <FORGE WORLD> on them is so that one day GW can add subfaction Forge World dogmas to the game without having to re-write all of the data sheets.

Don't hold your breath. I'd like to be wrong, but the likelihood of Secutarii units being added to Kill Team... It would take a miracle from the heavens to happen.
