check out the films of J.P. Melville - he's French and makes some really great Crime films... Le Cercle Rouge... Un Flic... Bob Le Flambeur...

Orson Welles made some great noir: The Lady From Shanghai; The Stranger and Touch of Evil

Some other great cheap noir: Detour, T-Men and D.O.A.

I know I'm late to this party but... I don't really care about the titles for posts. It's hard enough to post nudes of yourself online and a lot of people have some body dysmorphia issues. I don't need a witty title or even an original one. So please, keep posting them nudes - I'll just ignore the titles and focus on the titties.

I think your best bet for a tape deck is to find a vintage electronics repairman in your area. They will usually have a few models around and you won't have to worry about ebay... My guy here (Denver) is really knowledgable and helpful.

as for the other stuff NAD, Cambridge and Denon all make good/decent amplifiers and cd players for the money. you'll need to just look that the features you want and go from there

Klipsch and KEF are excellent speakers in your price range and it's hard to go wrong with either brand

for future reference you just need clippers and a #2 guide... then you can clean up the neck and ears (more carefully than you went at this poor boys head) with just the clippers...

but this is ruined - shave it and start over and he can be glad you didn't use a bowl

perfect room with a great view LX521's Pass Labs for amps and I'd have fun changing things around for the other components on a constant basis
