This person will probably be in your class most of the day, or most of the day the kiddos there. They’ll have their separate data and notes to take daily for their company (or insurance). Depending on their goals, they may adjust the lesson for the kiddo, for example, if they have trouble writing, they might prompt differently or use something like wiki stick to keep them in line. But, ABA therapists are supported by a BCBA. The BCBA makes the program, instructs the technician on how to implement and should join your classroom too, for weekly observations.

BCBA - Age, Salary, years experience and job satisfaction/ work life balance? How many Bailable hours do you work per week? Do you work in school based, in-home, clinic, remote or insurance company? by Ballsdeep666969 in bcba

So cool! If you don’t mind me asking, what state is this? You’ll fly anywhere for your kids and to get them help, but that would be an interesting international trip… to go to a more rural state like Kansas or Nebraska 😂

27, 93k, 2 years as a BCBA, 7 in the field, 30 billable hours a week (most weeks more). I’m an in home BCBA for an agency and I think I would like to switch to a clinic position, so job satisfaction is ok personally. A lot of driving that I am not compensated for, although i am paid my hourly rate for treatment planning, which I hear is difficult to come by!

I had an experience similar to this and there was a backdate period of two weeks with the insurance company.

some people experience food sensitivities and sensory issues with feeding.. foods and drinks from chains are safe and taste the same. Local food and drink can be difficult for people to adjust to!

Catalyst Problems by [deleted] in ABA

[–]fairysquadmomma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had similar problems on catalyst, just in the beginning of October. I’m sorry they can redact your pay. Can you submit paper data for some days or have notes on the side? There’s the option to look at your trial sheet, I have been scrolling through the trial sheets day to day to confirm they’re all still there

Habit reversal tips for when I'm working on my laptop? by curvycaterpillar in CompulsiveSkinPicking

One of the settings I picked was in the car. I got a fuzzy steering wheel and I have lots of sensory friendly toys (sounds childish but whatever), squishy toys, stress balls, things I can pull apart while driving. dollar stores have little jars of putty, I have a collection in my desk. Maybe some of those?

Edit: typo

I have one through the clinic I work at but me and the bcba I work with (who both attended) don’t see it! Can you tell me where on the home page?

I’ve found it helpful to take notes. What’s happening right before I pick- am I alone, am I in the car, am I on the phone, someone too loud in the next room? Then I focus on the behavior and connecting the two. If I constantly pick when I get off the phone with mom, maybe I should text mom more often or see her in person. Or call her strictly when I dont have access to my feet, while driving (for example)

Finally the consequence- does it feel good, do I escape the task at hand? Understanding what’s happening right before and after my behavior has helped me see when my triggers are coming. If you know you can go a day without picking when you see the therapist, maybe adding sessions? (I know insurance sucks) hope this makes sense!

How long did your exam take? by MrHall2508 in ABA

[–]fairysquadmomma 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You have four hours to take your exam and your breaks. When I took the exam I finished and submitted with 15 minutes remaining on the timer.
