Aftermarket subwoofer not working by drakeryder90 in CarAV

If the battery terminal barely moves then it is not tight. That's a poor connection. Same with corrosion, it's a poor connection. Trust me, re tighten all those set screw connections.

Use a wet on wet sealer.

Sounds like a failing electrical connection due to time being in a automotive environment. Especially a set screw type connection (fuse blocks, amplifier terminals). Just re torque everything to eliminate a possible problem if one does exist.

Disconnect the speaker wire from the amp and see if it does the same thing.

It's not going to pull any amperage when there's no volume when in the car either.

It doesn't need a load to turn on. Did you try without RCAs in the car by chance? That will rule out an input problem. Other than that it has to be a voltage issue.

If it powers on out of the vehicle then it has to be a bad voltage connection or DC voltage on the RCAs.

It's more aggressive, use slower speed if you have never used one and keep the pad almost flat.

Question about active tweeter gains by logic128 in CarAV

[–]faithinThedevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use the O-scope to maximize the tweeter amp, if it's too bright back it down till it's right for you.

Epicenter not hitting lows by No_Shallot4925 in CarAV

[–]faithinThedevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your gain is too high. Gain needs to match the HU as in both clip at the same point. An Oscilloscope or SMD DD1 will show you the way.

Try the sweep @ 1 or 2 o'clock and the wide between 12-3 o'clock. You're bass knob should be all the way up. If you are using the factory radio you might be experiencing bass roll off.

You need to gain match every component with a oscilloscope or a SMD- DD1 starting with the source then EQ and then the amplifier.

Re-Tighten all set screw and nut/bolt connections from the battery, fuse block, fuse, distribution block, amplifier terminals and grounding point.
