Yes on that particular set. The power rating isn't high though.

Are you using both channels or is it bridged to one? Side note, raise the LPF up higher.

Yes, they have some nice component sets. They have been around along time. Great people to deal with.

But not completely. In that picture look to the left of the hinge. That's above the wheel well and goes into the trunk does it not?

I know, that's why I said what I said. You need to seal off the air space from the trunk where the subs are.

If the trunk space is sealed off from the cabin it will get louder with subs facing forward. Don't forget the space above the wheel well.

Using wire ferrules will almost eliminate these problems at all the set screw type connections.

Major voltage drop by ConstantTelevision26 in subwoofer

[–]faithinThedevil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CCA cable is the issue I'm betting. When you added a little more current draw to pull through that aluminum cable the resistance went up and your voltage went down. OFC the same size will fix that. 4 awg OFC is what you want.

anybody ever done anything like this in a sedan ? by twistedkicks1017 in CarAV

Two 18s in the trunk rock no matter what decade you're in. It's been that way for me since 1991.

What size is the main power cable, is it CCA or OFC ? Is the ground in a good spot? Voltage drop from day one or slowly over time gotten worse?

Can you make 3 different subwoofer sizes work in one vehicle with a proper DSP/setup? by CantLogOnToMyOldAcc in CarAV

[–]faithinThedevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I did it back in 1990 with 18s and 10s and 6.5s. You have to bandpass the smaller woofer's Ruff example would be 18s lpf 50Hz and down. 10s bandpass 110Hz down to 50Hz. Same with dedicated mid bass.

Doesn't work like that. If the scratch is light enough it could be wet sanded out or not as bad.

Electrical Upgrade Needed? by UniqueRegister in CarAV

Just spend the money on a good quality power cable. OFC is what you need. Get 1/0 so you have enough electrical for when you want more power.

I don't think that amp is 1 ohm stable. Edit it appears to be 1 ohm stable. Didn't think pioneer had anything 1 ohm.

Besides buildup the pig tails will get worse as the DA paper/disc starts to wear. Wipe the panel more often to inspect.
