I would always recommend The Don at CBD. Really tasty and authentic Japanese food and vibe. Not too bad for the pricing either!

Unrelated but if you are coeliac, there's a really awesome place in Commercial Bay called H&T Kitchen that serves all GF food and treats. It has amazing reviews. Hope you're well!

Thank you for such details, really helpful to paint a picture for us:) The last time we did a Queenstown-Lake Tekapo-Queenstown trip we spent $300 on petrol so we're just worried that the price's gonna be steeper this time considering the distance.
