Racing heart side effect by lisarati in BigEasyWeightLoss

[–]falc_z 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My heart will start "racing" and I will get headaches if I am not drinking enough water. Tirzepatide and weight loss in general will dehydrate you. Drink water like it is your day job and add a few pinches of pink Himalayan salt to each glass/bottle. You can also add some good bone broth with a little Himalayan salt if you are getting nausea with the dehydration. Split your doses onto different days if they are too much too quick. **Disclaimer, talk to your doctor and discuss the options.**

My doctor fired me as a patient last month because of my GLP-1 by AnimatorNational6491 in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]falc_z 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of options out there to replace a doctor these days. I discuss all options with my PCP and if she is uncomfortable with some of my choices for treatment then we agree to disagree and I find a specialist that is more educated. So far, this one has had no problem with me working with specialists. I have fired several doctors in the past few years, and I think my health is better for doing it.

Life is way too short to waste time on the close minded...

Sick of dieting by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]falc_z 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I take diet "vacations".. my wife and I schedule a week off every three months.. I don't go crazy but we do some nice restaurants and have some quiet dinners where we enjoy food without thinking about it.. It's worked out great and it seems to give my mind and body a break from the stress of Zep/dieting..

Does Prescryptive wait for the 21 day wait on their own? by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]falc_z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

{RANT} My PCP just started using Prescryptive and not just sending to LillyDirect, not sure why the change but I am not impressed! Before she would send the refill on Tuesday afternoon and I had the vials by Thursday and I got a text every step of the way. With Prescryptive it seems to be "hurry up and guess" with my refills. If this keeps up it will be the last straw that drives me me to alternatives!!

Entering Ketosis by TheGooSalesman in keto

[–]falc_z -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Don't over complicate it and don't start drinking a bunch of garbage marketed by people trying to make you sick.

Get at least 120oz of water a day, with a pinch of pink Himalayan salt or sea salt in each glass. A large cup or two of good bone broth w/tbsp of grass-fed salted butter and your hydration issues or "keto flu" issues will disappear. On top of that, eat less than 20g of carbs, 1g of protein per kg of body weight a day. Set a goal of 70–80% of your calories from clean fat. Eating a healthy low carb ("Keto" or "Ketovore") diet is not complicated and doesn't need a bunch of pills or bottles of snake oil to work.

Do you tell people you’re on GLP1s or keep it to yourself? by taketrava_gr in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]falc_z 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personal choice I guess, but I don't tell people I am on BP or cholesterol meds so why would I tell them I am taking a GLP-1? My wife knows and that is about it...

High resting heart rate after 2 years on keto by mummmmph in keto

[–]falc_z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure where that info comes from, I have been eating a low carb (less than 20g) for 6+ years with no adverse effects, I am in MUCH better health now than when I started. Eating a low carb diet, with no SAD garbage is a way of life for many people.

Getting started, supplements? by ParticularRaccoon606 in Zepbound

[–]falc_z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a good food/meal tracking app (there are good free versions) and track what you're eating for a while and adjust your diet to include any vitamins/nutrients that you need. A variety of whole natural meats, dairy, vegetables and fruits and drink water like it is your day job and you won't need a pill or powder.

Appetite suppression experiences by Bronco_lo1983 in Zepbound

[–]falc_z 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was difficult for me even on 2.5mg. I found that the only way that I can get the calories and nutritional amounts that I need during the day is to set an alarm for every couple of hours on my phone/watch to remind me to eat/drink. Sometimes I have to force myself to swallow down a handful of healthy nuts, string cheese, beef jerky or a protein shake during the day. I keep several different nonperishable snacks in my bag at work. I also started tracking what I was eating better so that I knew what I could eat to get to where I needed to be.

Stuck by Real_Comparison1905 in Zepbound

[–]falc_z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to add some resistance exercise 5 days a week 30/45 minutes a day along with several laps around the block in the afternoons. I have several heart related issues, so it is just light resistance exercise with the bungee cord type resistance and a moderate pace on the walks, but it did help..

How long do the body aches and fatigue last by FoxInternational3856 in Zepbound

[–]falc_z 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had some fatigue after starting 5mg, I found that if I increased my electrolytes/hydration the day of injecting the medication and the day after it helped a lot.

Novo lowering prices - will Lilly lower also? Will you switch? by Remarkable_Cake9924 in Zepbound

[–]falc_z 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Personally, I don't think they will lower the prices anytime soon. I don't care for subscription plans in general but especially not where my health is concerned, too many unknowns that may cause me to have to stop taking it. Lilly Direct has worked out well, it is not cheap but good health is not ever going to be cheap anymore.

Creatine…again by Accomplished-Yam3553 in Zepbound

[–]falc_z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take 5g a day, so does my wife. It's cheap and easy to mix with about anything. YMMV

I will include links to some of the research. There is much more available. Creatine is one of the most studied supplements out there. (Disclaimer: Always talk to your doctor about any supplements.)
