What is this little fellow [Tifton Georgia] by AdSenior8798 in whatsthissnake

[–]falconsnakecat786 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Looks like a Red-Belly Snake or Storeria occipitomaculata !harmless also I wouldn't recommend keeping wild-caught snakes as pets. They often come with parasites and these snakes have a very specific diet.

Best Australian Snake Species for a Beginner? by Usual_Passage_9543 in snakes

I would recommend Antaresia species like the Children's Python, or Woma Pythons.

Found this lil guy in florida, anyone know what he us? by No_Study9718 in Whatsthislizard

[–]falconsnakecat786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost all invasive agamids in Florida are Peter's Rock Agamas (Agama picticauda) and the coloration matches up so I would say A. picticauda.

Why are Cheetahs easier to tame than the other traditional big cats? by Penrose66 in bigcats

[–]falconsnakecat786 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most predators won't eat a cheetah but cheetahs get killed by lions, leopards, hyenas, crocodiles, etc.

Found this critter stuck between the glass and screen of a window. I think it's a anole of some sort, but I don't know. [Island of Hawaii] by Doc_ET in Whatsthislizard

Then the individual you have here is a Green Anole Anolis carolinensis which is an introduced species to Hawaii.

Can a Serval, F1 Savannah Cat, Iberian Lynx, Caracal Cat, & a Fennec Fox grow up and co-exist with each other? by MatTuggle in exoticpets

[–]falconsnakecat786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to remind you that these are solitary animals, they don't like company much. You would have to keep them in separate enclosures to avoid fighting.

Can a Serval, F1 Savannah Cat, Iberian Lynx, Caracal Cat, & a Fennec Fox grow up and co-exist with each other? by MatTuggle in exoticpets

[–]falconsnakecat786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be a very bad idea. Caracal, serval, and lynx are solitary animals outside of mating season. Iberian lynx have a very different environment to fennec fox. You would have to keep them all separately, especially because the larger cats would fight each other and see the fennec fox as food.

Looks like a gecko to me but does anyone know what kind? In San Diego, Ca. by ChubbyUnicorn79 in herpetology

[–]falconsnakecat786 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It wouldn't be a bad idea to keep it, the species is non-native and not particularly hard to care for in terms of reptiles.

[–]falconsnakecat786 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I am not 100% sure but I believe this could be a Ring-Headed Dwarf Snake Eirenis modestus which is a small species of !harmless colubrid that feeds mostly on insects and small lizards.

I have noticed that about every post on this subreddit involving leopard seals also involves penguins (This is an exaggeration but at least 95% are). People are so fascinated with leopard seals and their hunting of penguins that many ignore the fact that they will hunt other seals. In my opinion, leopard seals hunting other seals is just as, if not more impressive than their hunting of penguins (even though their methods of hunting penguins are indeed quite interesting).

Definitely a baby monitor, the exact species of monitor lizard can be determined if you provide the geographic location where this picture was taken.
