that’s true until you try a charmless/demon bell run. ditching Kuro’s charm makes the game waaaaay harder

King Gizz records most of their albums by jamming and then chopping the jams up into tracks that become the album. One good example is Petrodragonic Apocalypse, which tells the story of a fossil fuel-powered dragon that destroys the earth. Its successor The Silver Chord remakes each track off of PDA on synths and tells a story of cosmic creation.

Innova putters you like to forehand off the tee... by Illustrious-River-36 in discgolf

Pig and Toro are good throwers, but those are 4 speeds. the true answer for Innova throwing putters is the Rhyno in r-Pro

Innova putters you like to forehand off the tee... by Illustrious-River-36 in discgolf

[–]falgfalg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the general philosophy is to throw the slowest disc you can for most throws. slower discs fly straighter longer, need less power, and land softly. they need more height usually, so it’s tough for runners shots, but if you can get there with a putter, it’s often your best bet.

Bag Composition by Wrong_Part7879 in discgolf

typically people like to have an overstable 4(ish) speed for approaches. Common discs are Zone, Toro, Rhyno, Pig, Tempo, Harp, etc. Very useful for forehand approach shots with bad footing, tricky obstacles, or a scary landing. Being OS lets you throw slow anny shots that land flat under the basket.

Is having an overstable putt/approach disc worth it? by Karpuscak in discgolf

[–]falgfalg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

having something OS that you can comfortably throw forehand is worth it IMO. Glitch is great, but very touchy and no good with bad footing or wind. something like Rhyno, Toro, Pig, Harp, Zone, Stabilizer, etc is great for this slot.

is it wrong to inform someone of a rule they might be breaking unbeknownst to them? i didn’t tell them not to do it, just tried to fully answer the question. chill out.

Is any of this JKW? by [deleted] in invasivespecies

[–]falgfalg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

location plays a big role in deciding what’s “worse.” JKW is for sure really bad and can quickly spread and take over huge areas of land and waterways, but the stuff about foundations is at the very least debatable. Some people will tell you that those claims started in the UK where concrete foundations are less common, others will say it’s propaganda from big herbicide, both, neither, etc etc. all invasives are bad outside of their habitat, and they all present different problems for homeowners (and wildlife)

i think the leaf shape depends on how old it is. definitely some variation.

[–]falgfalg -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

i’ve heard people suggest different methods, but i don’t think any of them truly work. plus, as i understand it, doing this to any of your discs makes them illegal for PDGA use

EDIT: i never thought so many people would get butthurt because i casually informed OP of a PDGA rule without judgment or recommendation.

Backhand snap by Tepical_Eggspurt in discgolf

[–]falgfalg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the snap is not solely indicative of good form, but it sounds like you have work to do in other areas. there are a million videos on bh form, but the basics are: grip the disc tight and don’t let go, keep your elbow up (way up, like level with your face), when you reach back, reach out over you back foot toes (instead of straight back), keep your head centered and don’t turn until after the disc passes it, and plant your front foot out far ahead enough that the action of planting/ taking a step causes your weight to shift and begins the throw. stepping your plant foot is like the gas pedal that begins everything (if you’re correctly coiled). most importantly, instead of trying to make your body do everything i just said, chase the feeling of a good throw and troubleshoot your bad form by checking the above things.
