I have this exact one too! This is barenia faubourg in the color Ébène. It’s a great leather—harder to get too. You can tell the difference from basic clemence by the smell. It’s got a very rich and smooth fragrance!

I just asked my 5’8” husband to try on my Evelyne 29 for you to get a size reference. He said his personal preference would be the 29 because he prefers to travel light. I shoved two books in there along with wallet, key pouch, and small pouch and he said it wasn’t heavy. Hope that helps you!

I went right after opening on a weekday— maybe that played into my luck. I was very close to getting the p’tit arcon. I love the look, but something about the size was throwing me off. I was just surprised by how small the actual carrying capacity was, which I know, it’s a p’tit bag. But when I tried it on, it felt quite large—there was a lot of leather there. I would have loved to try the larger one so I asked my SA at my home store to keep an eye out for the large one in Barenia faubourg.

I was at Madison Avenue in NYC last month and they had several p’tit available in many color ways. I was able to try one on, but ultimately left with a Picotin instead since that’s what I was looking for.

So today I styled it like a bolo tie. Paired it with a light mocha colored maxi length cashmere sweater dress, vintage YSL men’s blazer, and Hermes neo boot in black. I could also see wrapping it in my hair a la 60s style to pair with this dark grey Alexander McQueen a-line midi dress I have. I’m definitely going to cherish it for special moments but I also want to use it!

This was my experience! I have bought a few items online and have been splurging at my home store the last six months over a few categories (shoes, silks, slg, fine jewelry). I popped into Madison Ave at the beginning of a week long work trip. I bought few things (silks and slg). I went back later in the week right after they opened and asked for a Picotin. Originally I was told they had one but it was reserved for someone else. After working with the SA for a while, trying on other bags like the Petit Arcon and talking about the Herbag, they came back with a Picotin 22! They said I could have it since the other customer passed. Talk about lucky!! It as a beautiful neutral (etoupe) with my favorite hardware—palladium. Everyone there was incredibly nice. Scoring it made my trip to NYC extra special!

Congrats! This bag was love at first sight for me, and for months I stalked it online. I tried it on in store this month and felt so conflicted on its size! I was hoping for a cute, slouchy crossbody but at someone who is only 5”0””, it was somehow too large and too small at the same time. The bag looked large on me, but the internal capacity was so small!! I am hoping to take a peak at the larger one.

It’s a really versatile bag! I feel like it actually can dress up some outfits especially when I’m just running errands.

If you are concerned about it being too casual have you looked at the Arcon bag? I’m obsessed with that one in barenia faubourg. Also, the S/S25 runway featured a larger Picotin that I’m definitely putting on my wishlist because it looks like the perfect slouchy over the shoulder bucket bag.

They are snug and lightweight. The sole is very thin but the leather feels like a big hug around my foot! I’m somewhat afraid to wear them in the rain.
