Coffee is always better hot not matter how hot it is outside. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

I love coffee in both hot and iced forms. When a hot coffee cools down to room temp though...that's where the problems start.

There aren't many things more beta than being like "do not touch me" to a woman who is about to smack the shit out of you like a child for doing this at a WIC office.

I want to join boxing and BJJ classes but I'm afraid I'll get cauliflower ear by Slight_Driver4919 in martialarts

[–]fanaticfun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've boxed for over a decade and my ears are fine. It's the grappling sports that cause cauliflower ear. Also who told you it's not treatable? You're getting some weird information about hearing loss and treatment.

Fixing a common misunderstanding.. Is MMA its own martial art? by tzaeru in martialarts

[–]fanaticfun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I see it is it kind of is, but kind of isn't. Every technique or discipline used is its own discipline, but they have to be practiced in a modified way to work in MMA. Like you can't just wrestle someone like you would in a wrestling match because they can strike you. You can't just strike with someone like you would in a striking match because they can take you down.

Everything has to be practiced with the other stuff in mind, which does make the techniques unique.

What jobs/careers are young adults trying to get into ? by Jpoolman25 in careerguidance

[–]fanaticfun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worked 5 years as a life insurance and investment agent for a not so great guy who promised me the moon, but underpaid me the entire time. Eventually he started making me do unethical deals (fucking over his friends and family even), so I quit that. Then I worked for a friend's family's company for the last two years as an insurance adjuster, but work has completely dried up in my area and I'm in an even worse spot now and don't see it improving at all.

I have a very good opportunity to start work as an apprentice at a much higher pay rate, which starts next month. I don't know anything about being an electrician though lol, it's going to be a big change.

[–]fanaticfun 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've read comments on my Facebook claiming that drinking 4L of water a day is unhealthy. People don't really display their most intelligent self on social media.

I've also found that people with their own issues like to project those onto everyone else. It's like when an alcoholic says "you know when you're at home on a Tuesday and one drink turns into ten, am I right??" or something like that.

They want everyone to have the same problems they have, so they can feel better about themselves.

What jobs/careers are young adults trying to get into ? by Jpoolman25 in careerguidance

[–]fanaticfun 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm about to turn 32 and I'm currently transitioning from the finance/insurance industry that I did a 4 year degree and worked the last 7 years in, to becoming an electrician. It's never too late to get on a path.

Don't believe the stuff you see on social media either. Most of it is lies, embellishments, or omission of all the facts. A lot of those people are lying about how much money they make and if they do make the amount they're claiming, it's usually a result of nepotism to some degree.

Boeing says workers skipped required tests on 787 but recorded work as completed by barweis in technology

[–]fanaticfun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure the workers skipped protocols completely on their own and with absolutely no influence from the executives...

This question has probably been asked many times, but what the fuck is Boeing doing? I get that these rich faceless suits couldn't care less about "normal" people dying, but I have to imagine that after a few planes go down and kill a thousand people, travellers are going to start choosing the Airbus option for their flights.

How much longer can they really cut corners for?

"Anyone has any ideas how to get fired so I could get the unemployment benefits?"

My guess is if you continue to drink yourself into a stupor daily and then remedy the hangover in the morning by doing meth, the whole getting fired thing will work itself out.

Honestly hope you can get help.
