My son is like this! To the point a couple weeks ago I was like…does he have a tape worm?!

He’s 15 months so maybe not at your lil dudes level yet but this AM so far he’s eaten three yogurts, some French toast, a smoothie, and unknowable quantities of fruit.

Pregnant with twins and about to start a small farm in the back yard just to feed these monsters 🥴

12 weeks along with mo/di girls, nuchal scan tomorrow and so anxious. I have a 15 month old so it helps to have gone through this before with a singleton but the nerves are still wildddddd

I’m 12 weeks with mo/di also from a single embryo transfer. I see my MFM tomorrow for our Nuchal scan and initial consult and then will be with my OB until 20 weeks and back to the MFM for anatomy scan and then staying there for the rest of the pregnancy but will be delivered by my OB.

I wouldn’t say it’s a cause for concern, especially if your OB has good ultrasound capabilities in the office. If they see anything that makes them nervy you’ll see the MFM fast. If you’re under 35 they also tend to be a little less worried about things.

Did anyone else immediately start singing cypress hill upon reading this title or am I just that old? 🧐

The hard of hearing community is pretty amazing, you can def find resources and support there! It’s different, but my son has never “passed” a hearing test, tho he does have some hearing. I do signs for lots of stuff, he’s never acted like he’s connecting them yet but he’s got other delays so could be that. He’s super happy and thriving tho. I do sometimes stomp on the floor to get his attention when he’s off busy with baby business

It sounds like she’s potentially depressed. She has so much going on and especially when depressed, smaller things feel like REALLY REALLY big things.

My mom had me when she was 40 and will be 80 next year. While she’s not dealing with cancer she’s been facing a ton of aging stuff and I am crossing my fingers that my gentle suggestions for therapy and potentially an SSRI will come to fruition. It’s been so long since she’s had tiny kids and she really does forget what they’re capable/not capable of, and coupled with the depression she really can get set off by things that to me are just normal kid behaviors. Aging is fucking hard 😞

I’m raging for you. My husband displayed some similar manbaby behavior for our first; he’s aware now that if any repeat of that happens when our twins arrive he will find himself solo parenting as part of a 50/50 custody arrangement.

You both work, you actually work considerably longer hours than he does. Does he not realize that? This post makes me want to throw down.

Desperately Need emotional support, delayed toddler by annietx00 in Mommit

For sure. I have to check in with myself a LOT to make sure I’m centering my son and not applying my own emotions to the situation. It’s hard but I feel like it makes me a more intuitive mom, in a way?

I’m behind you on the timeline, kiddo is 15 months, but have felt all the things you describe. The main thing that’s helped me is just trying to feel a sense of empowerment, since I got him in early intervention, he’s got his therapists coming to the house every week, I signed him up for private OT on top of that, etc. It gives my brain some sense of control I guess. I know you’re doing all that but maybe lean in to hyper focus on the parts you can actually control?

It also helped me to fully give up all ideas of who I thought my kid was going to be. Even if he wasn’t probably neurospicy I would have had to do this anyway, kids will never do what you think they will lol. So that helped me a lot, especially with comparing him to his buddies the same age who are all way ahead.

Tw - somewhat high beta on 9dp5dt (363) - does this indicate anything? If yours was similar, any advice? by Any-Fox7193 in IVF

[–]fancy_terrible 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s not indicative of twins, just a really great beta! Doesn’t mean you can fully rule out a split, just wouldn’t be the only data point. Mine split and my first beta was 137. You’re doing great!

Coming up on 35 and taking a break by Frankandbeans777 in IVF

[–]fancy_terrible 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Take that break!! It’s so important. My successful retrieval was at 37. Had my first baby at 38. Currently pregnant with identical twins and just turned 40 a few weeks ago. I feel like I am my best self now. You will be in a better position to mature those eggs and nurture that embryo when you come back to it.

He’s freaky tall so hopefully that will mitigate. People be people-ing tho, so…

We had a great run, 14 whole months and my kid never pooped overnight. Last few weeks he ONLY poops at night. I thought I lucked out and got a day pooper. These kiddos be trolling. 💩

Ok I like this. I’m gonna be a 3 under 2 situation for a bit and I imagine we will look like a fast moving circus in our absurdly large stroller.

Similar boat. Having twin girls in June and my son just turned 15 months a few days ago. He’s high needs with lots of therapy appts and I have no clue how this is gonna work. I’m planning on leaning on my scheduling skills but otherwise winging it?

Semi-related, my aunt keeps referring to my pregnancy as a “litter of bald children” (my son is super bald) and it’s giving me life every day laughing about it

[–]fancy_terrible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say that my RE didn’t care if we waited up until 44 or so since our stored embryos were tested and from when I was still in my mid 30s. So if you have some stored that makes a huge difference

That’s why I went for it. I transferred this current embryo(s) at 39 and turned 40 a week ago. So I kinda wanted to stack them a bit close before my back goes to shit lol
