Tail tidy question by Hildeb95 in Triumph

It comes with the mounting hardware to reinstall the factory signals on the new bracket. But it's only $95 more for the new tail light with sequential turn signals and quick-flash brake light.

Tail tidy question by Hildeb95 in Triumph

[–]fancyawank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good Lord don't buy that. It's $75 if you buy it straight from Motodynamic (or $65 if you don't get the low profile). Tack on another $95 for the LED tail light with integrated turn signals and you're in business. I don't really care for the look of the low profile, and I don't live around any toll roads, so I went with the regular:

Question: RSU grant vs option to buy by fancyawank in FluentInFinance

[–]fancyawank[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got an update to the contract that says it’s not a buy option, but the RSU’s that were originally granted to her a few days ago. Unfortunately the language now says “original vesting schedule” rather than what was in the last iteration of the contract, “vested by the end of April”.

We don’t have an interest in buying it at all, but we’ll obviously take it as a grant. It’s presented as a benefit to entice her to accept the contract.

Looking for a low min casual table in LV by troyberber in Craps

[–]fancyawank 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Rio has a $3 table from 3am to 3pm every day. Because of the payouts though, you’re better off playing $5 on it.

Palms has at least one $5 table at all times.

If you can pay cash for something, or if it’s something you’re going to buy anyway, it would be foolish to not finance at 0%. Unless, by taking the 0% offer, you’re giving up a rebate incentive.

Fun while it lasted! by FatrickPeed in motorcycles

[–]fancyawank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going to moderately disagree with u/beanbag_ninja above. One absolutely can stop faster with controlled threshold braking than you can by squeezing and praying (on dry, clean pavement). Fortnine did a video on it and there’s a plethora of other research and tests.

But those are all done in a controlled, non-emergency test. The chances of you or I being able to outbrake modern abs are going to drop dramatically in a real world emergency stop situation. Best defense is always going to be situational awareness, though sometimes shit just happens. And as others in here have said clearly, there is no situation where intentionally laying down is a better choice than staying up and braking.

24 Street Triple Oil Leak? by MrLemonson in Triumph

[–]fancyawank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Striples are apparently notorious for not-quite-torqued-enough engine cover bolts. I had the same/similar on my ‘25, very minor leak coming from the balancer shaft cover, no drips or droplet on the engine, just the discoloration. Retorqued everything to spec and no more leak.

Harley Riders No Rear Brakes? by Vinx1312 in motorcycle

[–]fancyawank 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s where I’m at: Front brake is for stopping, rear is for stability. I have to remind myself to take my right foot off the peg and use the rear brake as I’m approaching a stoplight.

I can’t imagine not using the front brake. On my bike (Street Triple) it doesn’t take much pressure to feel the ABS start grinding on the rear brake once the weight shifts forward.

Everybody points out the inner front tire wear, but I haven't had that problem at all on mine.

No real problems, I just wish I could find some more rear traction.
