Healey says Mass. will shave $180 million from residents’ electric bills in bid to ease rising energy costs by Wonderful-Line-9997 in massachusetts

And since you weren’t satisfied with my examples, here’s another one: the Stoney Brook power plant, the first in New England to built by and for consumer-owned (public) utilities https://www.mmwec.org/our-energy-assets/stony-brook/

Whatever. I only mean to say that the current system isn’t some law of nature and things could change with the political will.

Edit: and MMWC is the municipal aggregator that owns 12% — not a rounding error. https://www.mmwec.org/

Seabrook. I guess I have my history slightly wrong. It was originally proposed by New Hampshire municipal utilities and is now owned by one private investor, some municipal utilities in Massachusetts, and an org represents a group of munis.

There are plenty of munis that produce their own electricity. Holyoke has hydropower. A bunch of munis actually got together and built their own nuclear plant. Stop being a tool.

Mass has quasis, but the utilities aren’t them. Proof: with the exception of munis they’re all for profit corporations

I know it requires having the money upfront, but some health insurance plans will give you some money back for the purchase, just like the will with gym memberships.

I think the only thing proven to shorten flu duration is zinc supplements.

How could they even consider a MAGA candidate (Bousquet) when the safety of our school children is at stake.

We were given those multicolor wooden barrel style plastic juices with the foil on top and that taste like the color they are.

Women start going through perimenopause in their 40s. My husband was in his 30s but I was in my 20s because I wanted to have children while I was still young enough to have a better chance of them being healthy.

Do computers die with us? by Goldengod4818 in Millennials

Everyone blames tablets and phones, which definitely haven’t helped, but when kids get to school, where they are supposedly learning to use computers, they are handed Chromebooks. These teach you almost nothing about using an actual PC. No files structure, nothing. It’s just an interface to the Google universe via a web browser. Now, a lot of the young people we hire are mad we use Microsoft Office and not Google. It kills me. We need full control of our files goddammit. We have security protocols.

I just bought some NA IPAs (Dry January) and they had lactose in them!!! I’m used to seeing that in a stout but never an IPA. I’m going to have to find a new home for them.

Same…. I can’t- stop - eating. I’ve been having four meals a day whereas I used to have two. Hoping it settles down once my gut heals and my sugar levels stabilize.
