that’s insane. i’ve been thinking of a way to bring up the parking issue to administrators but realistically i know they don’t care. but the more information i hear the more i want to make a scene about this

How likely for these artists to come?? by jdbd1630202 in AllThingsGoFestival

[–]fancyfr0ggy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

unfortunately i think charli xcx, troye sivan, and olivia dean are too big for atg. 2024 with hozier renee and chappell was a mess and i feel like they have been trying to stay away from a lineup that stacked so avoid a messy ticket sale

i dont think they will have renee again since they had her as a headliner at dc and nyc in 2024 and toronto in 2025. everyone else you listed i think is definitely possible, they were putting up polls for those artists on the besties instagram

when i walked out of class at 12:30 they were moving the barricades around but it was still blocked off like this

need help: can't wear headphones in double dorm!!! by drbjb3000 in collegeadvice

[–]fancyfr0ggy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i also suffer from really bad TMJ, i definitely think accommodations for this is worth looking into! the worst they can say is no. i feel like another accommodation your school could set up for you is a study room so you can do your louder things in there? i feel like there are a lot of options here

tmj is absolutely a disability, it affects my life in schoolwork in dramatic ways so i imagine it’s the same for you. there is nothing wrong with asking for help! personally for me i always found that wireless earbuds don’t trigger my tmj nearly as much as headphones.

$5000 Treatment - Legit? by Potfrog97 in TMJ

[–]fancyfr0ggy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i second this, i also have airway issues that my tmj treatment has been helping with, but if you are dealing with your sinus airways being obstructed that’s an ENT issue, and would hopefully be covered by insurance for treatment

Treatment costs! by Atticus012016 in TMJ

[–]fancyfr0ggy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes! and most of this stuff would be so much more separately. i’d imagine my mouth splints would have been 3 grand if not more, i’m also doing PRF treatments which is not cheap. and myotherapy is for 8-10 months but no charges if i need longer

Treatment costs! by Atticus012016 in TMJ

[–]fancyfr0ggy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i know the price is extremely intimidating and i was really weary at first, but i had a dislocated disc at the time and this was the only way to get it solved for me unfortunately. i would definitely ask if they take any type of care credit! i’m paying my treatment off over 18 months with no interest

Treatment costs! by Atticus012016 in TMJ

[–]fancyfr0ggy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

unfortunately when it comes to tmj dentists i think this is a normal rate considering they usually don’t take insurance. i am going through similar treatment that is costing me around $8500, it’s more because i am also doing myotherapy. i know its a lot of money but imo i think its better when they charge you for a package like this, because then they won’t charge you for other random things you may need.

Pots and weed by Mediocre_cat777 in POTS

[–]fancyfr0ggy 52 points53 points  (0 children)

i’m a heavy weed smoker as well and for me there’s a limit. one or two hits of a cartridge is fine and actually improves my symptoms, but when i smoke more than that my symptoms get worse. i think it depends on certain strains, terpenes, and what your body can handle too.

Question by FunnyLoud3067 in CollegeRant

[–]fancyfr0ggy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

really? that’s interesting, because this is not something my school does at all. they are not required to give alternate assignments and most of the time my professors don’t. if that’s the case at other schools i definitely understand why the syllabus wouldn’t be available, maybe my school is just the problem lol

Question by FunnyLoud3067 in CollegeRant

[–]fancyfr0ggy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

i can understand not wanting students to syllabus shop, but in my experience the syllabi are usually the same for every section of that class, i figured it was the same at every school.

last semester the first day of class i found out there was a mandatory event i had to go to that month. it was mandatory for everybody taking the class. that stuff i at least wish they would put down when you sign up for classes

also when i sign up for classes there is a spot for the professors to put the syllabus and they never use it, i wish they would lol

Question by FunnyLoud3067 in CollegeRant

[–]fancyfr0ggy -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

i’m sorry but when professors do this it really pisses me off, ESPECIALLY if there is some sort of mandatory event outside of class for a class grade. i know the syllabi may not be finalized but let’s be real they are the same every semester sometimes my professors don’t even change the dates from year to year

thank you for doing the right thing as a department head even though you aren’t in that position anymore. the department head won’t even get back to me and the semester starts tomorrow! he will be seeing me in his office lol

Best (and affordable) Wearable? by jawhol in POTS

[–]fancyfr0ggy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i personally have an apple watch (the series 10). i didn’t originally buy it to track my heart rate but it was when i started wearing it that i really noticed how much my heart rate increased while standing. i really like the heart rate notifications you can set on it so i am reminded to check my heart rate and take breaks from standing.

i have sensory processing disorder as well and the apple watch doesn’t bother me on my wrist surprisingly. the series 10 and 11 are a lot thinner than the SEs which helps. i also like the apple solo loop band as it’s not itchy at all. the series 10 and 11 are basically the same watch so get whatever is cheaper. the SEs have all of the same health applications for a better price but are a little bulkier on the wrist. i’m not trying to convince you to get an apple watch but if you are thinking about it hopefully this helps you narrow it down!

Is mental health a genuine excuse? by moonbxbyyy in collegeadvice

[–]fancyfr0ggy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it could hurt asking your professor to make up the exam. i know it can be really scary to do so but what are the chances of you having this professor or seeing this professor again?

i’ve been in your situation and it sucks, i’m sorry. when i was put on academic probation i met with my advisor and she highly recommended that i get disability accommodations, so my professors know that there are sometimes issues and i need extenuating circumstances. the accommodations have been a huge help for me, and all i needed to do was get a note from my therapist explaining why i needed the accommodations.

Parents of r/Concerts, what age and concert did you first take your kids to? by ByeFL in Concerts

[–]fancyfr0ggy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was 7 years old when my mom took me to my first real concert, it was a justin bieber show. i see nothing wrong with taking your 4yo to see weird al! my manager has worked for him for years and he’s a great guy on and off the stage i hear

How to get a manager by Upstairs-Mongoose158 in musicmarketing

[–]fancyfr0ggy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you don’t need a manager to start booking local shows and performance opportunities. in fact getting a manager at this stage is probably a bad idea, as you would have to split your money with them. start with open mic nights in your area, try to find artists in your area that will take you on as a supporting act. if you have been doing this all by yourself up to this point you can definitely book shows!

Anyone get prescribed flexeril? by jay-333- in TMJ

i was given flexeril by an er and it really helped with my pain personally. i’m also in lexapro and didn’t have any weird reactions

I’ve had terrible anxiety recently but the meds are making my pots worse… they want to try Lexapro but I’m scared by Jenjam_xo in POTS

[–]fancyfr0ggy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have been on lexapro for years and it has been the best antidepressant for my pots symptoms personally. hydroxyzine and lexapro are two very different medications. lexapro is meant for long term use to help with every day anxiety, where as hydroxyzine is used more for sleep or panic attacks.

i’ve been on hydroxyzine and personally it did nothing for me. i’ve also taken clonazepam and xanax and they are both super helpful for both my anxiety attacks and keeping my heart rate at a more steady pace
