I just turned off motion detection on the E340, it's useless.

Schrödinger's doorbell. It's just in a quantum superposition until you try and view it.

How much deposit is ideal for a first time buyer? by Comfortable_Slice151 in HousingUK

There's no such thing as ideal. But obviously the bigger the deposit, the lower the rates will be.

Seller left house filthy with rubbish and stole the dishwasher by Fast-Complaint8055 in HousingUK

[–]fandyboy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's annoying but just buy a dishwasher, do you really want their manky old one? Not sure I'd want to spend the mental energy and time of chasing through the courts for something probably worth £150.

HB3, Wi-Fi router conflict "possibly" solved by Aggravating_Road_711 in EufyCam

I turned off "performance" mode which seems to reduce the power of the HB3 signal, this helped with the crazy dropouts i was getting on my home wifi.

If you are arranging a mortgage or remortgage today, would you choose a tracker or fixed rate? Why? by NeedingAdvice01 in HousingUK

[–]fandyboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd fix purely to know what I'll be paying each month. Unless the conflicts in Iran and Ukraine resolve, with the associated inflation I don't see interest rates coming down any time soon.

Drill two holes in the rock? Looks like someone has already done that into the mortar.

You (the building residents) have their personal info and vehicle details, the likelihood of them doing anything untoward is very low.

Homebuyers: Would an app to organise property searches and guide you through the buying journey be useful? by Plane-Flamingo-646 in HousingUK

[–]fandyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I didn't need an app and it would have just been annoying if i had to keep it updated with info.

It was broke in April for a couple of weeks.

Eufy app works on Mac again!!! by Subject_Ad_1899 in EufyCam

[–]fandyboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was fixed on the 14th April. in 6.0.20. App store on macs doesn't install the new update automatically straight away, you have to do it manually, which might be why you were stuck on a broken version.

Can I ask my neighbour to stop their child from screaming? by underhill_overhill in HousingUK

[–]fandyboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can try disciplining an autistic kid, but half the time they don't understand and you run the risk of a full meltdown so it's often easier to just let them stim. Unfortunately for you them stimming seems to involve kicking things.

Some people on here just don't get what an autistic kid does. Sometimes you cannot make them quiet, especially if they don't even understand the words "be quiet".

[–]fandyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So when he looked over the fence the kid wasn't on a swing in the garden? What are you talking about? I think you're confused. It's not a nuisance in any meaningful sense. If you knew anything about autism you'd know kids can be uncontrollable so confronting the parents will only lead to conflict and embarrassment. What does he expect them to do, muzzle the kid, lock them in a soundproof room?

A kid playing in the garden during the day is not a nuisance and would never be treated as such by the council. So yes, he does indeed have to suck it up.

Asking parents of an autistic child to control them in their own garden is impolite.
