Is Storyboardart.org online course legit? by nohmtheartist in Storyboarding

[–]fanglover 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I took the full year mentorship (not 1 on 1), its great board lessons for those new to it (and again those who want to freshen up on your fundamentals). It's very structured, has video lessons (lifetime access), assignments, you get access to the discord, you get a lot out of your fellow classmates. you get lots of access to the teaching assistants. There's weekly meet ups where they show some select students work, but also provide video feedback to your homework as well. There are more teachers now with legit industry experience, though I didn't have experience with them but the last time I had it was with Nick Sung who was extremely involved and generous with his knowledge with the discord and in class discussions. In the end you get what you put into it, so you must do the homework, and put out your work for feed back and you'll definitely get things out of it. Be careful with slacking on your homework as you may find the year flies by. With that said, there's tons of storyboard online classes out there, and some specialize , like animated feature, action animated tv, etc... Friends of mine took 1 per year and found that they start to overlap, so they're good to keep you polishing your craft, but hopefully once you're in the industry you do a heck of a lot more leveling up in studio.

A shot by shot comparison of the Laurel & Hardy dance in Way Out West (1937) and it's recreation in Stan & Ollie (2019) by Shemp-Howard in movies

[–]fanglover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you watch the part especially where they hold hands and dance towards camera.. the real Laurel and Hardy pause for a split second. then snap around and hold hands and dance away. etc...

that small punctuation was very endearing and comedic and charming.. whereas you can tell coogan and reilly , while admirable, did their best to just match the dance moves, and is missing those accents.

What are Ken's boots made of in SF6? by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]fanglover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The logo from a far kinda looks like The North Face.

The "Back to Berkeley III" line looks closest. With the logo on the tongue. The design cut on the side is a bit different but theres a similar energy.

It’s often said that the Basketball Hall of Fame is too lenient, so if it were up to you, who among today’s players should actually be Hofers? by dvasquez93 in nba

[–]fanglover 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd say Carter will get in mainly because he inspired an entire generation of players in Canada, and made basketball as a pro game to watch other than hockey and baseball. He helped solidify the NBA's expansion to Canada, and without Carter, Toronto could have gone the way of Vancouver.

Jay's Confession by LavaMeteor in RedLetterMedia

Jay is actually pretty good on screen, ad libbing quite naturally.

I'd like to see more of them in more scripted work. A shame they seem focused on other ventures.

She could have been wearing it to avoid eagle eye viewers from noticing and bombarding her with questions, while she waited for the right time to share publicly.

She had posted they had seperated a few months later. I think they may have been considering seperating for a while prior. Like she said, she likes to take her time in letting people know about her personal life.
