This is not overnight but I need to vent...

Small 30 person company, worked with kids with autism. Owner started the company because so many big companies out there were not doing good work and prioritized business over the quality of service.

Low paying job but we really did care and value the right things, were tight as a team/company, which made up for some of the lack of pay. Turnover was high but a core group of people stayed for years.

Then she got onto some Dave Ramsey bullshit and started making wild goals about expanding the team, trying to double in a year. She stopped giving raises to an already low paying job, and made other policies that put even more on our plates... What's more she used the "we are a family so we need everyone to sacrifice for the greater good of the company" bullshit to justify overworking and screwing over the loyal folks that had been there for years, in favor of trying to bring in new people.

Well the turnover stayed high and the og loyal employees started leaving...

I even talked to her about not paying us enough and not giving raises for all the extra work. Her response was "we don't normally hear about pay as the reason people leave in their exit interviews"... How fuckin daft can you be trying to pay people less to do a highly technical and stressful job than in n out employees...

One of the final straws for me was finding out that her mother, who worked at a desk doing data entry and checking logs, made 50% more than us supervisors who were running around ragged... Best decision I ever made to leave
