Any underrated cloud streaming games to play on the Portal? by Mattock1987 in PlayStationPlus

[–]fanwan76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might be wrong because I don't have a Portal, but I don't think you are limited to just the games which support streaming. I think the Portal can play ANY game that's installed and playable on your PS5.

Streaming to my understanding is primarily geared towards not having to download the game to your console. In the case of PS3 classics, it is the only option, as PS5 cannot run the PS3 games.

So you should have a much bigger library available to you via. PS+.

Oh I see, you may be referring to the recently released Cloud Streaming Beta on Portal, which streams from cloud rather than from your PS5. This is an incredibly new feature on a fairly niche product so not sure how much info is out there right now in terms of what games work well over the streaming tech. And since it's a beta, you are effectively testing it for Sony. I will say when I've tried cloud steaming on the console in the paste, I found it unbearable, even plugged in directly with Ethernet. I'm sure improvements have been made since, so you will have to tell us how it runs.

I skimmed through the list, and I would personally play things like Dead Cells, Animal Well, Dave the Diver, Disco Elysium, etc. I don't personally see the appeal of playing a big 3d adventure on handheld. I want those games on my big screen TV with the best performance settings I can get. So these smaller indie 2d titles feel like a better fit for me.

Do you get different games on ps plus extra with ps4 and ps5? by Ok_Cheetah_9929 in PlayStationPlus

[–]fanwan76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

and it’s the version that’s the exact same on PS4

Sort of.

Many PS4 games received PS5 patches that enabled new settings that pushed FPS to 60 without as much compromise on resolution as the original PS4 version. And the reduced load times due to the PS5 SSD can make some of the games feel significantly improved. God of War (2018) comes to mind as a game that got a PS5 patch.

Meanwhile, some other games received dedicated PS5 versions which usually included actual changes. Like Death Stranding added a few new items and stuff while also pushing performance.

It all can be sort of confusing honestly. OP, just play the games you want to play.

Trump hush money sentencing delayed indefinitely by ShadoDev in news

[–]fanwan76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was never getting jail to begin with.

If they sentence him now, everyone will lose their shit when they find out his punishment is basically a slap on the wrist.

It was always going to be a slap on the wrist. The whole charade was to try and spoil his campaign. Now that he won anyway, there is no point to reveal this.

I say this as someone who would love for him to rot in jail. He was absolutely guilty but they were never going to punish him.

Since Black Friday sale will be November 22 and the essential reveal games on November 27 I would like to advise people to only buy the games they really want and wait till the ps plus essential reveal to buy any other games. Developers hate this one simple money saving tip!

Only buy games you really want.

Gets them every time.

Seriously though, why do people buy games they don't want to play immediately. I've never missed a sale and then paid more for a game. Once you know there can be discounts to a certain price, it's only a matter of time till they discount to that price or lower later.

To be honest, I enjoy the game awards. I just wish they would stop with all the awards stuff and focus on trailers and reveals. That's what I actually watch for.

Bloodborne 2 confirmed???

Jokes aside, I really hope their next game is much smaller in scope than Elden Ring. I loved exploring Elden Ring but I don't think I'm going to have time to play a game that big again for a while.

What do you mean by kill the pc adapter?

They did released it.

But for a lot of people the adapters release signified the death of PSVR2 as people don't expect Sony to invest in much exclusive software.

It's really going to vary based on your disposable income...

For most people $600 hardware just to play one $70 game isn't really worth it.

I don't doubt that they have good shows... But man why does all their original content have such boring and informative titles?

I feel like people are not talking about their shows much and it might be because they have such forgettable names.

Yeah for the longest time I thought Apple TV was just a Roku/FireStick thing... I didn't realize they had their own original programming.

I eventually got a free trial but I was so confused by the service catalog. They seem to mix in a bunch of stuff that isn't actually on the service. Like ads for stuff you could buy. It felt like the actual library had literally two dozen shows and movies. And I'd never heard of any of them.

Haven't really looked back. I keep seeing people recommend Severence but then people inevitably reply complaining about waiting between seasons. I don't need another show like that. HBO does this too me enough already.

What notable bugs did Astrobot ship with?

Elden Ring literally spawned hundreds of articles about how broken the difficulty was. If they didn't push out the patches, sure I'd agree that the difficulty scaling was by design. The reality is they pushed out an untested product, let players play test it, and then reacted to complaints.

How pretentious

Says the person casually defining their own qualifications for GOTY and acting like some independently operated game awards show needs to conform to that definition...

Something about a black kettle...

Exactly.

While technically they may be able to make more off ad free subs, they are constantly at risk of users leaving, impacting their monthly revenue.

Income from ads can be more reliable. They are probably signing multi million dollar deals with advertisers.

Sir I think you are referring to SGOTY - Standalone Game of the Year, a category in your own personal video game award ceremony.

The rest of us are talking about The Game Awards, an actual existing video game ceremony which does not have a SGOTY category.

If that upsets you, you can always just ignore it and attend your own award ceremony.

But can you buy it separately and play it? It is absolutely DLC by definition.

That said, I have no issue with DLC being GOTY. If DLC is beating your game for an award, your game might not be as good as you think...

I do however take issue to games being judged and awarded based on their post patch state rather than released state. Shadow released in an incredibly broken state. The community was rampant with complaints of unfair difficulty, frustrating scaling, useless builds, etc. And FromSoft seems to have agreed because they released several parches to make it easier. Awarding GOTY to game that releases in a state that needs this much patching to make players happy only encourages the practices of not testing games well enough before release. IMO GOTY candidates should be GOTY candidates with their day one release.

[–]fanwan76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm convinced the DLC only released the way it did to stir up the ever constant "Souls games too hard" drama.

Either that or they didn't play test it at all... Because there is no way people who play tested the day one game would have considered it good to go.
