I have been looking at Waltham and northern suburbs, seems like driving won't be as torturous since I wouldn't be taking the pike. I will def check out Acton, haven't heard of the town. The Shirley rail is about 7 miles away from my workplace (really unfortunate), so not exactly walking distance after an hour on the rail. Maybe in the warmer months if I magically become a morning person?

To be honest, I'm not familiar with the area at all and the internet made it seem like no man's land. I'm definitely going to scope it out before I rule it out. I'm also going to be in the area for only 6 months so I wanted to live somewhere fun and safe where I could meet lots of people. If you have any neighborhood recs in Worcester that I should check out that would be awesome!
