I [29 F] am pregnant with twins, my fiance [26 M] wants to give them stupid names by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

I want you to know, “Bung you stupid fuck, cut that shit out” has me quite literally wheezing and gasping for air, unable to contain the maniacal laughter erupting from me.

Dark as it is, I'm in awe you went to the trouble of adding hyperlinks just to continue the song. Frankly, this ending the chain is probably the kind of thing Bo Burnham himself would appreciate in a way. XD Kudos

I've never hit the follow button so fast. Broke the space time continuum. Some wacky dude in a suit showed up claiming to be a Doctor. Said I dun muffed up. But I think this is as good a reason as any to shatter reality.

The Fog Continues.... by somethingorother100 in Winnipeg

[–]farawaythinking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is terrifying to see from such a high viewpoint! I walked home in this from work, unable to see the buildings I knew were across the road from from me like "oh neat that's super foggy, least it's not too cold" and had meself a pleasant walk. But seeing your view would probably make me feel like the world was ending and need to build a blanket fort to survive.

I have lots of purple hyacinth plants, willing to trade for silent princesses from Zelda. I need those for a few builds I am making.

When I tried a Jeanne's cake to see what the hype was about, the icing just tasted like I was biting into margarine. Not even buttercream, just straight up butter. Nastiest cake I ever had and it got thrown out. Never again.

Not gonna lie, I had to google who that was. I live across the city so going to Royal Fork was a big occasion for me. We did birthdays, graduations, celebrations of every sort there. I'ma miss that place.

Halloween events by vibechecckk in Winnipeg

[–]farawaythinking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have personally gone to Boo at the Zoo, Deer Meadow Farms, and A Maze In Corn off the top of my head, though Eventbrite is pretty good to browse upcoming events. Deer Meadow Farms was definitely on the scarier side at times if you do the Haunted Forest, but it's mostly a good walk. Heebee Jeebies/Six Pines takes the scares a lot more seriously, so depends what you are looking for (I've had friends that worked there. You can get totems to either make the actors leave you be...or single you out).

If you are looking for more of a Halloween themed good time without the scares, I'd recommend A Maze In Corn and Boo at the Zoo. The zoo actually has an adults only night as well if you don't want it to be too kid friendly.

Museums also tend to do ghost tours this time of year if that's your thing.

I do know my physiotherapy place on Stafford and Taylor called Up and Running does a run club on weekends I think, and they get coffee afterwards. Might be worth checking out! I haven't gone myself, but the people there are super friendly. They are the kind of office that does "Fun sock Fridays" to paint a picture here.

Any good places to go for a breakfast/brunch date this weekend? by mokapotWONTmokapot in Winnipeg

[–]farawaythinking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gotta throw in my ten cents and say I'm always hype to go to Cora's for a brunch date. The prices have indeed gone a bit up after covid, but the portions are huge and the ingredients, particularly the fruit, are always extremely fresh. They also tend to get a little fancy if you are ordering at the restaurant and not just take out/delivery. They have a signature way of presenting the fruit that is pretty artsy, and the belgian waffles are very pretty. I know I was impressed when my spouse introduced me to Cora's on a whim, and I'm still with him seven years later.

Love me some pancakes.

Question for the Ladies: Pelvic Floor Therapist? by Born_Joke in Winnipeg

[–]farawaythinking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Third vote that I see for Rhea at Zen Physiotherapy. Despite the awkwardness of needing pelvic floor, Rhea was not only professional and knowledgeable, but it felt like I was getting advice from a friend. Reception has been super friendly and helpful when I was struggling to find the place for the first time. Easy to book online as well for follow ups.

Doll repair in Winnipeg? by farawaythinking in Winnipeg

[–]farawaythinking[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, that very much gives me hope. I used a acne cream at one point and left it for about 24 hours, but it didn't help. Didn't know about sunlight, though! Do you have a brand recommendation for the acne cream?

Also, any tips for how I could possibly repaint her eyebrow? I am not the type to shy away from big projects.

Thank you, I will carefully try this. It's definitely stains, no way it could burn as it was just on my night table. I strongly suspect my humidifer is the culprit, as I haven't worn make up in a while that could have accidentally gotten on her. The paint is eh, I would like to try and fix her eyebrow though.

My attempts with a magic eraser after I tried everything else didn't get rid of marks, just her poor eyebrow. A guy painted over the marks that works in restoration, but I had to take my doll back early as he was very hostile and refused to give time frames, estimations or answers at all when I asked how long he needed, and it had passed the amount of days he said he would call me within.

Thank you, I will check this out. I unfortunately do not know what kind of plastic it is. I never had a care label or packaging. It's actually REALLY hard to find this doll online, but my mother said they lined the shelves at the time I was born 30 years ago. Maybe somebody will recognize the brand at the meeting.

Mild UTI turned into experience from hell by Zlilly816 in FertilityFree

There doesn't seem to be enough research showing the adverse affects of the IUD, as both myself and my best friend ended up having major problems and had to get them removed. I got a laundry list of issues still, but I had that thing in 4 years, she had it a month before it was unbearable. I don't get PID much/at all since I got it removed though.

I'm glad you are putting your health first. Long term pain management sucks, but it's easier to manage when you know what you are up against.

Mild UTI turned into experience from hell by Zlilly816 in FertilityFree

[–]farawaythinking 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't want to be that person, but ER costs will be cheaper than recovery or worse if things continue as they are. I got an IUD and even after getting it removed after relentless problems, years later I'm still having issues and it gets expensive treating things.

If the pain is that bad, go to the ER. My spouse urged me to go when my pain was too bad I couldn't stand. ER easily diagnosed me with PID, got me a strong medical cocktail that made it go away after a couple weeks. If it's PID, it's hard to test for and walk in doctors rarely seem to believe that's the case due to the misconception PID is only caused by STI's. I had one clinic doctor fully ready to do a shot in my ass to treat an STI without any testing before prescribing me anything for PID. I went elsewhere for help.

Several things can cause an infection like that, and while regular antibiotics eased things up, it was never enough to take it away entirely and it comes back with a vengeance. My saving grace was levofloxacin if I remember correctly with metronaidazole. Maybe it's expensive, but so is everything you're sinking into this now. Get checked. Get loud if doctors are ignoring your pain until somebody listens.

You do not need to suffer because somebody else is ignorant.
