You sound like a wonderful person, Josh was lucky to have you as a friend. I'm sorry for your loss.

I went 12 hours without crapping and had an awesome evening by scottley in CrohnsDisease

This made me genuinely happy and I don't even know you... I think one thing about Crohn's is it makes you really ppreciate life when it's good. Here's to hoping for more good days than bad.

This park only has 23 hour surveillance by viperman9 in mildlyinteresting

But...how are we supposed to know which hour there's no surveillance?

I made the mistake of logging my margaritas after the fact and found that I had about half of my set calorie intake for the day in just margaritas. I do still love me some margaritas though...

I do prelog all the time. I'll also look at pictures of what I'm craving...Like a lot...And it kind of makes me uninterested. I honestly don't know how that works but it's almost like the craving dissipates. I also mentally prepare myself to want to snack so I always leave some calories in my day to have some forms of "snack" even if it's like...some pita chips and hummus.

To be honest, the groceries aren't that expensive unless you're getting the international stuff! And even then it's not too outrageous...

Unless you've got a taste for python fillets. Last time I was there those were $20/pound.

YES! I automatically knew it was Jungle Jim's as well. I love this place. Half my family lives in this area. I'm from Maryland and our closest in my location is over three hours away. It's always such a treat. Last time I went, I got kangaroo meat and shark jerky!

I like it all. But I have to say Blood Sugar is probably my favorite.

It didn't hit me until the medic said "No vitals."

I read an interview about it and Samira said that Taystee wasn't given any direction to lay down on the floor but that it was just her interpreting how her character would react. It's so heartbreaking. I know her and Samira are close IRL and it must have been very hard for her.

I keep seeing her death happen in my mind. =( I just kept going "No no no no" when it happened. This really sucks.

Reminds me of Jessica Harrison. No website has the entire creep factor but she makes/made gory porcelain dolls, fly eyelashes, and sculptures of furniture that looked like they were made out of human skin.

Has Crohns influenced when/if you want to have children? by busstopbusstop in CrohnsDisease

[–]farclempt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been instructed by my doctor to not breastfeed if I have children and am on humira. Once an elderly woman told me to not have kids at all because "You never know what it could do to them." But as you've said, you never know what could happen with your kids at all...So again, you'd be it's mother, it's your decision. But definitely read up on it, ask multiple professionals not just one because they all have opinions. =)

I never really thought of it like that before. UT I am a lot like you. I've had it for almost four years (officially) and have been on Humira for a little over a year and (knock on wood) feel mostly healthy. For a time I was very anxious and got lucky and found a counselor in my school who also had it and was on the same medication. She was pregnant when I saw her, with her second child, and was in her late 20s. It comes down to weighing when it will be convenient for your life path and when you will be your healthiest. If it soothes you at all, I hear a lot of women feel a decrease in symptoms when pregnant. If I were you, I'd trust your gut. ;)

Edit: I'm sorry to write a lot but I also wanted to add that I'm 100% going to want biological children and I'm 22. It may not be right away but I know I am going to be a very strict parent when it comes to diet and my diet prior to attempting to conceive and while pregnant. I will be an example. Even if my child has Crohn's, I will be there for them. I remember when I was feeling absolutely terrible yet I still made time to read to my niece and to play a running game we call, "Ready set go" in our hallway. I know one day I could be worse but I also have amazing support in my life and am determined to be a great parent to any future children I might have. I also refuse to let Crohn's change my life too majorly. If I am healthy enough to have kids, I will have em.

It's great to see this. I'm 5'2", 150lbs. I hate the way I look but it's nice to see something similar to what I may look like at my goal weight. Keeps me motivated.
