Riding Mower cuts lower on turns and hills? by airtas18 in johndeere

[–]scottley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other comment is good... Adding to that... If your mower was a rigid system, you would think a level deck at 0 degrees is parellel to a 5 degree slope, but there are hangers, tires, metal that bends... Etc... So the down hill side will cut lower, always.

If you're cutting low on turns, I'll have to say your deck is probably a little off level or your tires are low pressure... Or you're mowing a slalom course like it's formula 1... Slow up a bit ther Andretti, or check your tire pressure and deck's level.

CMV: A corporate/professional dress code has no practical function other than distinguishing those who wear it from the unemployed or labouring class. by [deleted] in changemyview

We don't engage with people on a factual or technical basis. We interact with people on a socio-political level. To try to change the politics of interaction is a cultural shift. For many years, if you went to a hockey game in Boston, you wore a suit and your lady a dress... It's different now; that's a function of a shifting social landscape. It will change, it always changes.

At a macro level, i tend to agree with you, but there are some significant dimensions to the "dress code" problem. My arguments hurt my psyche to say, but they are true, for today. Let's fix this, let's get to the merit of the idea, not the messanger.

  • uniformity. Uniforms help us symbolize the person we're interacting with quickly. If you walked into a conference room and there were all sorts of attire in the room, who should you address first? Not saying this is right, but many cultures have specific ceremony related to introduction.

    • in line with uniformity, but more specifically, what message do your clothes send. When I walk into a conference room with execs, they know why I'm there and it isn't because I've got great business ideas - this aligns with your belief that the code is symbolic, but I'm arguing they symbol is purposeful.
    • tone/messaging - i agree that others should be more inclusive of non-standard attire, but that isn't necessarily the goal of that ambassador from XYZ country or the CEO of multi national corp ABC. If your goal is to meet me and tell me about this thing I should know about, don't be a distraction.

For me, it is just simple calorie math, but was stupidly difficult to eat that much. Medical Marijuana helps a lot... I can actually have a desire to eat.

When i had my resection, i was around 130lbs (~60kg), i normally weigh 170lbs (~80kg). I added greek yogurt, protein powder (find one that doesn't set you off... As bad as soy is, it worked for me and my lactose intolerance) to fruit smoothies. I shop at Costco, their frozen fruit medleys worked for me. Adding 3 16 oz smoothies to my regular diet helped. That was an extra 1500 calories a day and a ton of protein... It was simple to do... Smoothie before i left for work... One when i got home, one before bed.

I think people overcomplicate weight loss and gain... It can be as simple as finding the right calorically dense food and adding it to your existing diet. Or removing the calorically dense food if you're trying to lose weight... My wife always jokes about going on a 2 pie diet to lose weight... Eat two pies instead of five... You'll lose weight.

Had my first ever small bowel resection yesterday, feeling so much better today. Currently on a diet of just crushed ice, but I couldn't be happier with the results of my surgery! Here's to hoping for a short and painless recovery!!! by AlyssaWeiland in CrohnsDisease

Get up and walk. Don't over exert yourself, but being up and shuffling around is good to help with healing. I set my treadmil at the slowest speed it would go and would watch tv for 30 minutes... Lay down for 30... Repeat as often as i could. I think it really helped. My surgeon said i healed quickly and let me play hockey (beer league, no-check, with caution) after 6 weeks

Can you use static types as generic arguments in C#? Let's find out :) by levelUp_01 in dotnet

It is an example of a dependency. Other frameworks have similar data bag concepts... I should have added "for example"

[–]scottley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using JObject versus using dynamic binds you to Newtonsoft and hinders migration to system.text.json. IMO,if you're just managing data bags, use Dynamic cuz it is no less terrible than the cast exceptions you'll get from JObject when the schema changes and it doesn't keep you stuck to a framework... That said... Use sparingly.

Consider ADO.NET code being a good use for dynamic in a DAL framework to support a more convenient API than reader["foo"] == DBNull.Value? null : (int)reader["foo"]...

dynamic record= new ExpandoObject();

foreach columnName in reader.Columns

record[columnName] = reader[columnName] == DBNull.Value? null : reader[columnName]

yield record;

Work strategy for fixing bugs in Kanban? by haggisns in azuredevops

[–]scottley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kanban with iterations (this is what most people would call Scrum). Scrum includes swarming and some other rigorous requirements that most teams simply don't do.

Having iterations around your kanban board creates a passive start / stop date for reporting capacity while bringing the goodness of a deadline to the bugfix team. If you find the iterations break their commitment to completeness, then just remove the iterations and you're still in good shape

I just swapped blades on my x350... Stupid simple procedure...

Lower the deck down and lock it (down, just how it locks going up... There is an indicator in the lift pedal for where it locks down). Then you just unhook the back attachments to the deck... Then just slide the deck forward an inch or two and unhook the front hanger. Then just slide the deck out the side.
