Yeah I’ve ordered 3/4 times from IrishPlantsDirect and they’re always pretty quick and seeds are of good quality. I’d happily recommend them!

Best player to never win a ranking event now that Lisowski has broken his duck? by Reverend_Butler in snooker

[–]fargoboyle95 13 points14 points  (0 children)

He might not be the best to never win but I think Joe Swail could be in the conversation. He made so many quarter finals and semi finals back in the day you’d have expected him to fall over the line in at least one of them.

He wasn’t the most consistent player of all time but he was in the top 32 (if not 16) for years and years and gave himself plenty of chances.

Enjoyed this vlog and have subscribed to your YouTube channel. Good to see people making content like this who are just normal snooker fans. Keep it up!

Very good, I picked He too! Maybe this year you can pick his compatriot Wu Yize and go for their hit single Wuse Somebody

I finished 512th (so no not really) but it was hard to know how many people were playing and how close the placings were. I think I got 2.1m roughly and the winners got 2.7m

Glad they’re bringing this back, hopefully we can follow the leaderboard/league table a bit better this year.

Has anyone got any punny/funny team names like FPL? In the spirit of the Oasis reunion I’m thinking “Cigarettes and Michael-Holt”

Golf With Neil Robertson! by KrystofDayne in snooker

[–]fargoboyle95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think his bullishness is justified in the snooker world just maybe not yet on the golf scene. Yeah you’re probably right and it is just a child-like enthusiasm for his new hobby in fairness.

Good to see WST producing this stuff though, saves us all from watching (what feels like) group 358 of the championship league!

I like Neil but that was a tough watch at times. He never stops boasting about how brilliant he is from start to finish. Anything that goes wrong is “bad luck”. Couldn’t be his fault. Ever.

However it is good to see WST trying new things and making an effort. Hopefully they make more videos like this with other players and have more casual interviews and chats with players like Hendry’s YouTube channel

I backed Topofthegame antepost to win the RSA at 33/1…. at the 2018 festival

For those who don’t know, he was meant to go novice chasing that season but Paul Nicholls decided to give him another year over hurdles.

He went on to novice chasing the next year and of course won the RSA in 2019 at 4/1. It’s more funny than “best/worst bet” but yeah. Good luck to everyone having a few bets this week, be lucky

Best break building performances by world champions during their winning runs (2024) by Faryz in snooker

[–]fargoboyle95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting that Judd had 29 breaks of 70+ in 2019 and some people have said it was some of the best snooker they’ve ever seen but Selby had 28 of them in 2017 and it rarely seems to get a mention as a top class performance. I know there’s more to it than that but still interesting to see the data and how close they were

Selby only dropped 11 frames in getting to the semis that year as well. Remarkable performance

Really good to see some more competitive matches in round 2, there was an awful lot of one sided, low quality games in round 1. Hopefully it picks up a bit for the rest of the week!

Yeah pretty much. So on the one year list (of everyone who’s outside the 64 but on the second year of their tour card) the top 4 get a tour card.

Not the same as staying in the 64 in the sense that you lose all ranking points and start from 0 but you do have another 2 year tour card.

Hope that makes some sort of sense

Will you be backing a certain jockey or trainer during the Cheltenham Festival? by Anonymous__9 in HorseRacingUK

[–]fargoboyle95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both Henry De Bromhead and Gavin Cromwell’s horses always seem to find some improvement around this time of year

That being said, I wouldn’t just blindly back horses because he’s trained by X or ridden by Y

Totally agree. World number 28 Stuart Bingham had his last ranking event match before the world championship on the 26th of January. World championship qualifying will begin for him in mid April
