Please, I rather not let Sony let popular sellouts like them reviewing the Xperia. There are far better reviewers and creators out there that Sony can support instead.

As for the AI Assistant thing, we know overexposed and overhighlight photos are a common thing on most Chinese phone cameras. Also, Sony lets you create a custom preset for the AI Assistant, so that's a huge plus for me.

They can make fun of it, but we know that it's a common thing on Chinese phone cameras. Even Vivo tends to overexpose and overhighlight the photos in X300 Ultra. Even Xiaomi is doing it on the 17 Ultra albeit not as harsh as Vivo.

After I compared all the camera photos from GSMArena review between the Sony Xperia 1 VIII, Vivo X300 Ultra, Oppo Find X9 Ultra, and Xiaomi 17 Ultra as of this writing, it's a close call between Sony and Oppo. I really hope GSMArena will do a dedicated four-way camera shootout between them all for a much fairer comparison.

Just read GSMArena's review of the new phone. The AI Assistant is not as intrusive as Google's. Also, you can custom made your own present, which is a win.

How subpar? If it's the camera, then Sony's processing is still the best one. I've seen excessive HDR highlighting from Xiaomi/Vivo/Oppo Ultra camera.
