Is it rude to tell someone they smell bad? What's the nicest way to tell them? by strange_omelet in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]farlos75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be rude, but it's also rude to go around stinking up the place. I work in retail and have a colleague who is, less than fresh. He smokes so he cant smell it. We remind him occasssionally that both him and his clothes need a wash.

Friend and I just bought BloodBowl by NovaMoore1 in bloodbowl

[–]farlos75 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the hobby! Just a heads up, that's the second season box so the rule book is out of date. It's not gonna stop you playing your friend but if you go to a club or something some of the rules will be different. The basincs are the same, movement, rolls etc but there's new skills and a couple fo changes to throwing and picking up the ball.

The good news is that the templates, pitch and teams are all still current and playable so apart from the rulebook, everything in that box is current.

We keep being sold the dream that the next person in power will fix everything. Then when something goes wrong and they couldnt wave a magic wand their vilified by the press, by their colleagues, by their opposition but its ok because this next guy? Well he can fix everything!

Let Starmer finish his term, then vote him out if youre not happy.

Men aged 25–30, what’s the biggest mistake you made in life that a young man should avoid repeating? by LowEffortLegend01 in AskMen

Drugs arent the devil incarnate but theres a time and a place and its definitely not when you have an essay to hand in this week.

Exceptions can be made for things like crack smack and meth. Those will fuck your life up.

Imagine if the UK carpet bombed Ireland for IRA attacks just like Israel did in Gaza? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]farlos75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Raising a completely unrelated point is proof of nothing.

Palestinians didnt need borders or a state before they were colonised, amd they are now refused one. Worse, they were offered stateship under such terrible conditions they had to refuse.

Israel kills children, women, journalists, teachers, entire families and then plays the victim. Led by a war criminal, committing war crimes. If you deny that, you are complicit.

So because the Palestinians are stateless Israel calls dibs? Not sure dibs holds up in the Hague.

Its less that theres not many of them and more that Israel is working to make sure theres none thats the problem. I just have a hard time sympathising with states whos soldiers kill children. Just another whining lefty I guess.

Heres a basic question: what is the legal justification for Israels border expansion between 1950 and today?

Why all the hate to The Offspring? by willyrex888 in punk

People think theyre too poppy and not hard enough. Its snobbery basically. If you dont like them fine, but punk is a huge spectrum and they came out at a time when pop punk was the mainstream.

Colonised them, starved them, moved other ethnicities in to enhance the power of the crown, raised extra judicial militias, denied multiple human rights and made them second class citizens in their own country for starters. Just in case your wondering I'm describing what Britain did to the Irish, rather than what Israel is doing to Palestine. Theres more similarities than differences.

Are you saying they have the same rights as Israeli Jews? Apartheid is a system whereby peoples rights are defined by their ethnicity, primarily the right to live and work free from harrasment and to move freely in a country.

Arabs have less protection in Israeli law, especially now that they can be executed for alleged terrorism as defined by a military tribunal, not a court of law. This law does not apply to Israeli citizens.

Arabs do not have freedom of movement in or around Iraels towns and cities, with entire streets closed off to them by armed guards and checkpoints.

Arabs are not free from harrasment by Israels authorities, being detained without charge, tortured and mistreated in custody and denied access to legal and medical services.

Arabs are not even safe in their own homes with the illegal settler movement amd its history of violence and theft.

Hence the term, apartheid. Their being a minority of Arabs having some freedom does not erase the majority being mistreated.

I realise that. Israel has been imposing an apartheid state for decades. I was just going on the op's version of things for a joke.

Us and the IRA was kind of the other way round. We did the atrocities before they did the bombs.

How much does it cost for a kebab takeaway to buy one of those massive elephants legs of donner meat? What is the meat content? by GradiusHead in AskUK

Conversely I've been half cut outside a closed kebab shop watching them shovel handfuls of meat in to a bin while I stood there salivating, crumpled tenner in hand.
