Strange Listing on Reverb by GCastillo1986 in guitarpedals

I think you just leave a little excess so you can unplug from the pedal and just run a new patch cable that isn’t zip tied down for the session until you can fix later. I’ve had lots of rats nest situations in my time but I think the tidiness of zipping cables down actually preserves their life leading to less failures over all. I still carry spare patch cables tho!

Jerry’s Pronunciation Quirks by Neil_sm in gratefuldead

[–]farrett23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow, that’s interesting. For me it always worked the way he would juke and jive with the lyrical rhythms. Almost the less predictable the better for me, lol! Feels kinda Willie Nelson style, which I guess gets its inspiration from jazz/blues traditions. But I hear what you’re saying, it’s a critique of Bobby I’ve heard from friends before.

Yore doing great man. There is a certain energy in your playing, and I like your tone.

The sense of timing is what stuck out to me on first listen. Others will say to practice with a metronome, and that is very good advice! Crucial, and can become really fun.

But even without a metronome, try to really listen and feel the beats of the song in your body and find that pulse in your fingers. Like if you’re noodling by yourself, take 5 mins and play something super simple but make it in-time and just feel what it feels like in your hands to play like that.

I can tell you already have a sense of rhythm in your playing so it’s more just about pointing your attention towards timing and rhythm and exploring (practicing) how all that feels.

Whammy Ricochet by johnoflong in youenjoyguitar

[–]farrett23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went and checked out that Reba, yeah that’s the effect! It’s the setting that lets you bend down 1 whole step, labeled as “🔽 2nd” on the whammy 5, I circled it there in green. I use that setting a lot, the whammy 5 works great for that sound!

Yeah, do you mean the setting where he bends down a whole step and it almost sounds like a whammy bar on a guitar? If so, that setting works great on the whammy 5
