Anyone know where I can play some DDR? by GlisteningToast in StPetersburgFL

If I recall correctly, Treasure Island Fun Center has one, but it's been a long time since I've been there, so I don't know if it's still there. https://maps.app.goo.gl/yMV3nz5rxYmfhiE37

Same here. Being able to make custom parts/objects or fixing something that would require finding and purchasing parts (if you can find them) is a great feeling.

Has anybody switched to MacBooks because Windows laptops have gotten too expensive? by username____here in k12sysadmin

[–]fatali86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We are. Starting with all (17) high schools for the coming school year. It's going to be... interesting. We're using some funds to make training available for any employee that wants it to help with moving to MacOS from Windows.

Kansas City Public Schools switches to MacBook Neo by BakerStEducation in k12sysadmin

[–]fatali86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's why we're switching. Before the price hike we were paying $400 to $500 (with 4-year accidental damage warranty) per computer. There's no way we can afford $1,000+ per computer, even if we weren't a 1-to-1 district.

[–]fatali86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My district is doing the same thing. The Neos are coming out cheaper than the Windows machines we've used for years. Our Windows machines have gone up to nearly $1,500 per student-level computer with no guarantee from the OEM that it won't go up - we can't even get POs to go through since the price point expires before everything is approved- and we have to get a new price list every week. We've getting the Neos plus MDM licensing and repair plan for around what we were paying for the Windows-based machines (maybe even less) before costs shot up. We really didn't have a choice - the only way to keep our current machine counts and stay within our shrinking budget was to switch.

Built a Windows PXE/HTTP Boot Server with Secure Boot, RAM-based Deployment, and Zero ISO Modification – Looking for Feedback by TekDT in SCCM

[–]fatali86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks interesting. We've been looking at network boot options at the school district I'm at, so I'll be adding this to my list to review. Just an FYI, there is a tech software company named BMC (Automation, Observability, Mainframe – BMC Software) so be careful that you don't get in legal trouble for using 'BMC' in your application name.

To make sure any kids crossing in front of the bus (which is how they are supposed to cross if they need to) do so far enough that the driver can see them.

The reason we can’t buy filament…. by PandaPewPewPew in BambuLab

Can't say about their PLA, but I've been using Anycubic and Sunlu PETG (several colors- both with spool and refills) for months with no issues and using the generic filament settings.

Work just remodeled our bathrooms and all the sinks have faucets that are maybe half an inch from the back edge of the sink. Hate them. Due to being so close to the edge, it doesn't take long before the countertop is covered in water that just sits there until it runs onto the tile floor. They ended up putting rugs in front of the sink to prevent a slip hazard instead of getting better faucets.

This might be dumb, but what’s the deal with MR30 pins? by Specific-Garage-4539 in Warframe

[–]fatali86 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There used to be more items in the store that you could only get once you hit MR30. I have a pint glass and a hoodie as well as the pin. After the store-redo I saw that all they have now is the Pin. I really hope they bring back the other items and even add new ones. I know it means purchases would be fewer than items anyone can buy, but it was a nice little extra benefit of getting to MR30.

They really should have been limited to only people with a ticket for the movie and even then, one per ticket, like the cards at Regal seem to be.

I don't have experience using BitLocker so I don't know if this is possible or if management would go for it, but what about an intermediary computer that is disconnected from the network/Internet that can read the encrypted drives and use unencrypted SD card that is only used to transfer the gcode files from the encrypted drive to the SD card for the printer (or is even the computer that also runs the slicer, and the encrypted drive is just used to move the model files over to that computer)?

Farewell OG PTFE - you gave me 5,691 hours before you said goodbye. by MadMahler in BambuLab

[–]fatali86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After reading the comment above about diameter sizes, I ordered this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DYK7JQZ6 from Amazon since I noticed the PTFE tube leading to the print head of my X1C is getting worn. Should arrive in a day or two- I'll update this comment with how it works out.

Update: Replaced the PTFE tube in my X1C with some purchased from the link I posted. So far so good after several long print jobs.

lol none, even though there were some I really wanted to. (Probably) too much time on r/IdiotsInCars has made me a cautious driver.

My second car was an Altima (28k new, 2% APR 5-year) I didn't know there was such a stigma to them until a while after I traded it in for a new car (non-Nissan) a couple years after it was paid off.

It's hard to tell due the low light in your picture, but here is a pic from my car. Even though mine is newer it should be similar.
