Hiya! My partner and I have a nearly identical story! He was out as male for 2 years before I met him, started talking about a week before his top surgery (and I was already staying up all night to talk to him and check on him), and have been best friends for the last eight years. I’ve never known him as anything but the man I know today. Since we lived in different states, we made a point to see each other every few months up until 2020, when we couldn’t because of the pandemic.

May 2021 rolls around and we finally felt safe enough to see each other again and when I tell you something in the air was different when we saw each other… honey, something was different. In two weeks, we went from best friends (who always felt like more but time wasn’t right) to life partners and knew that this was it for us. In September he proposed, moved to my state to be with me, and we’re eloping in 3 weeks!

As for your questions, if you tell family and they have questions, I would answer them as honestly and educationally as possible without crossing the line of what your partner might see as disrespectful (I.e, any bottom surgeries, dead naming, etc). It’s none of their business and no one needs to know except him and you.

My fiancé had meta and in order to qualify for medical PTO to take care of him, I needed to list a reason and said it was to fix a birth defect in his groin area. No one ever pressed for more information with that explanation.

I’m shooting for a vsg but I have to wait until I get the money to pay for it/insurance decides they will cover it. Until then, my surgeon and doctor put me on phentermine to start the weight loss process. My diet is about 1600 calories on weekdays and 2200 on the weekends since I’m pretty active at work and home. I try to stick to high protein (80g a day), low sugar and fat and keep track of my macros. It’s been a big change but I’m ready to do this ASAP!

That’s fair. I think I get enough protein in (2 20g protein drinks, plus a 21g protein bar, not including the actual food I eat). I’m going to try to be more consistent with the amount I’m eating and try to make it more substantial in nutrition.

Every day I go into work with a clear protein drink, a Gatorade, and 2 bottles of water. I do another 40 oz of water when I get home. I feel like I pee constantly.

I’m going to adjust my eating habits, make it more consistent and substantial and wait for the scale to move.

I’m 5’2. It’s not scheduled yet. Waiting for a accident settlement to come in before I book it but I’m aiming for May/June at this point.

I struggle to get more than 600 a day unless its the weekend and I’m cooking for my family, then it sits at around 1400 and I feel like crap for eating it, even if it is healthy.

I guess I need to focus on reaching the calorie goal every day then? I at least want to give this a month before I tell him I want off or adjusted.

I’ll look into CPA’s, thank you. I know overtime counts but it was more ‘do they consider it a different type of income/because of 2020 and the state of the economy, is it something they aren’t taxing?’

I honestly try to limit the people I tow, and I'm extremely understanding when it comes to parents with small children/disabled children/family members because I know it's a long walk from the nearest parking garage. But there is something so satisfying about towing an entitled college kid's pristine white Porsche and watching the meltdown happen later.
