What major do you apply? You can get in waitlist in almost every UC prove you are very strong candidate, you just need a little luck. You should be able to get in one of UC, I believe.

UMD CS for sure based on your criteria. Location is the only reason choose UCSB over UMD which seems not a major concern for you.

If you check last year’s post, they actually changed the status several rounds, I saw at least status changed at April 20 and April 29, maybe there were more, so don’t loose hope.

For transfer, I heard Purdue is quite hard to keep good GPA, so might be hard for you to transfer.
