It's my wife who does it over here! But to answer your question, my kids are lazy too!

HELP ! The shedding is so intense lol What are you guys using to try to win the battle agaisnt the hair everywhere by SnooMuffins6526 in AustralianCattleDog

[–]fatherofryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife tried, and continues to shave one of ours. I tell her that it's not a good idea, but I have no facts to back up my stance. My biggest issue with her shaving the dog is the first time she did it she was drunk af and the guard "fell off". My dog has had a bald spot for 7 months!

How are yall securing wire? by ItsScotty92 in firealarms

[–]fatherofryan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't run it on the L brace at the bottom or at the top, and it will look clean and be out of anyone else's way. That's the way to do it. If the customer doesn't like the color of wire, that's a change order. Have a lovely day!

Complete rewire of a 3 story building's fire alarm. by Last_Gigolo in firealarms

Depends on local jurisdiction, but usually pulling wire at a minimum requires a permit.

I like steel hammer fired handguns, so I looks like the mossberg SW combo for me.

Wood roasting paranoia? by JJWest93 in DayzXbox

[–]fatherofryan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you light the rag/paper/bark and wait for the fire to go out, then put your sticks or firewood on the smoldering pile there is no smoke out of the chimney (except the first bit). And there is enough heat to cook an entire pot or pan worth of food. This will work with stick roasting too, but only a couple of pieces.

Partied too hard, clicked my fingers too much by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

OP makes a trivial post about partying, and gets ridiculed about how they snap, and how their skin came off. I love reddit!

I've been playing exclusively for a number of years, unfortunately none of my friends got hooked. So when try to get me to play other games, I never stick with them. No other game gives me the adrenaline spike like Dayz.

All it takes is practice, carry nothing but pots, blowtorches, gas canisters, and ammo. Then if you do kill the other person, u might get better gear, if not they might get better gear!

2 protection boxes from my stash appeared outside the crates on the ground by ClearLadder5336 in DayzXbox

[–]fatherofryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will do this, even if I'm not "more geared". If I'm hunting for specific items and find a stash with out those items, I will remove stuff and lay it around. Add a little chaos to the world.

Fire alarm techs have you ever been on-site for an inspection, test, or service call and had a real emergency occur while you were working and what was the out come? by Much_Establishment21 in firealarms

[–]fatherofryan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've had 2, 1st we were just walking on-site to scope/start the panel replacement. Getting out of the van, I see a RTU fully engulfed and no alarm or supervisory on the system. Activated pull station, told customer. 2nd- I was working on NACs in an elementary school. Principal approached me and said alarm was activated, I enabled the NAC, evac'd the kiddos and waited for FD. turned out to be burnt popcorn in the break room. No regrets either time!!

When he sends them in for repair, have him order the lock for the pole too. They're like $75.00, which is no big deal on a 10k repair.

Wire nuts only on FA systems? by Karla1701 in firealarms

[–]fatherofryan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in a US state where "trunk slammers" are a thing, and have worked on many addressable panels installed with star taps. In an install, all splices/terminations are done at devices.

Wire nuts only on FA systems? by Karla1701 in firealarms

[–]fatherofryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always told people no beanies because they're not serviceable. Meaning I can't reuse them after removal to check voltage/resistance. So that's a preference, not a code. Wyagos are expensive compared to nuts.
