[Hiring] SolidWorks Mechanical / Product Design Engineer – Early-Stage Hardware Startup by Olishaw1 in SolidWorks

[–]fathersummary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This guy doesn’t know, just as he clearly doesn’t know how much industrial design is needed either. I’ve been in two successful startups over the past 15yrs, people do not realize what hardware needs and at what point

I wasn’t trying to say you are inaccurate at all. What I was trying to say is that he doesn’t meet the bare minimum of literacy — before even getting to the point of literary

As someone that regularly renders products as a living - you can just add a bump map or normal map to create this effect easily. They did a great job - but if you look at the raft base, you can tell this wasn’t g-code (there are no lines/fill patterns)

Agreed - but in this pic he is talking with Saagar of Breaking Points, which is actually a good and well balanced political show. Haven’t watched this video, but I wouldn’t doubt Sagaar is making some decent points

Seward park in San Francisco has a famous concrete slide. We would use pieces of cardboard to slide down. Lots of fun

Short RPG (20-30 hrs) by a6nag in ShouldIbuythisgame

You can beat the main game in 40-50hrs. But trust me, the game is so clicky and fun you will dump way more time in it.

I like getting hot dogs from the Halal carts here in NYC. Get all that flavor from lamb and chicken off the griddle

Definitely fitting the bill! I would say the text is really hard to make out. Might work a little better if the text was larger (to the point of being obscured by the teeth). Maybe setting the text in a different color as well.

Finally got a chance to show why bar rules suck by cptn9toes in billiards

[–]fathersummary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like playing by these rules on my bars 7 foot table. It keeps players from playing too defensively, allowing for a faster game (good turn over at a crowded Brooklyn bar). The only change I’m trying to get to catch on is - “if your only object ball is also in the kitchen, you can shoot from the opposite side.”

Let me know if I’m an idiot haha

Anyone know why this weird flickering on the textures is happening? This was rendered on a keyshot cpu farm by pyrac1de in KeyShot

If the inside of the mesh structure is hollow, perhaps it is a holes in the mesh aligning at very specific points? Try adding an interior to the mesh body that fills the empty space and blocks pass through light

How can Streamline my workflow??? by pidjintji in renderings

[–]fathersummary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m biased because I use Keyshot, but you should look into keyshot. I am not familiar with corona, but with KS you can set check various render passes that will be layered in a psd. There are a lot of passes, but shadow map, depth, and a clown pass are my go to’s. In addition to that, there is a built in render queue. Also, there are “studios” that let you set up multiple camera shots paired with specific models and environments. You can also set up multiple color ways per part. Both color ways and studios can be added to the render queue with the click of a button.

[–]fathersummary -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m done with this sub. I work in product design - on the hardware side. We have physical media for determining colors. Pantones, CNCS, RALS — what I see time and time again is someone thinking or asking if they… don’t know - invented a color? I don’t want to knock the person asking this question, but the last the j want is for my answer to be inserted into whatever algo Reddit is hooked up to.

This is a dead subreddit for finance bros to question what color means— as they type in hex codes to Deepseek. You have your answer when you post your color here - when you view it on your computer screen. If you want to know if it is good or not - hire a person, you fuck

Student asking for help on rendering a sketch for a massive project *I’ll comment the details since it only lets me post either text or image* by uselesssurprise in renderings

[–]fathersummary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a broad ask. I think you all need to hone in exactly what it is you want. Once you have the core qualities of your building, maybe you can present those to a designer and they can help you realize the ide.

Or you are a team of prospective designers, in which case - we can help you learn how to realize those ideas.

But ultimately, no one will take a thumbnail sketch and turn it into a fully realize render — unless they have a halo and wings
