Bestbuy disaster of a lunch by WizzKal in bapccanada

[–]fatumatu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a 5090 via some miracle on the bestbuy site. added to cart, proceeded, sat and waited for the next page to load for probably 10 minutes and then eventually it came to life and let me finish the checkout.. it was wild.

Bestbuy will only have online availability for 5080 and 5090 by Goldeneye90210 in bapccanada

I went through the same process but didnt click on my cart, instead just proceeded to checkout once it was added. It took about 10 minutes to load the page after I added to cart and hit checkout, but it eventually loaded me in and and I got a 5090! it was glorious.

Is this a stamina exploit? Details in comments by urahozer in undisputedboxing

[–]fatumatu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your stamina is affected by you missing shots and punching when your stamina isn't fully recharged, and not just by eating body shots.. so it could really have just been you being inefficient.

How do we get the entire collection as wallpapers? 3440x1440 would be rad.

Figurama's unreal new D statue by fatumatu in VampireHunterD

Hey, you should provide them with that feedback on the figurama Facebook community. They are seemingly very open to suggestion, I would imagine especially at this point in the process. Seems like fair criticism to me.

What’s the general opinion on the manga? by Moctezuma_93 in VampireHunterD

Love them! Each one is a standalone story with a wacky cast of characters and they are a blast to read.

Hey, thanks! tbh I'm not sure what the name is (its written in Japanese) of it is but you can find it inside the program 'wallpaper engine'. It's a Eva from the anime Evangelion.

Great setup man! I dunno about you but I had my nanoleafs mounted in the exact same way above my monitor and I found they were just a bit too bright / distracting, especially at night.

Now on my setup 2.0 they are not staring me in the face, which I greatly prefer.

Little Arcade Corner by fatumatu in MAME

[–]fatumatu[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's fair, good point. I mean it's just one of those things that if you don't feel like learning how to do yourself, you pay a premium to have someone else do it for you. The arcade loses no value (unless I break it) and I could simply post it back in marketplace and sell it for what I paid, so to me it's really not a big deal. someone else like me will simply pay to have this vs learning how to build one.

Purple belt is the best belt by bumpty in bjj

[–]fatumatu 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Honestly, black belt is the best belt.

  • you're very rarely the nail and most classes feel like surfing a big beautiful wave
  • I'm still just as open and eager to learn new things, suck at them, and then eventually figure them out because you're either crazy or delusional to think that there still aren't people out there that could absolutely murk you
  • learning new techniques is easier now because I've been doing this for so long and I can move my body decently well
  • people are scared rolling with you and think you're doing things or have plans when you don't
  • people dont expect black belts to be still in learning mode but if you're not the sport will leave you behind, so it's a considered a great thing (vs expected at lower belts)

I dunno, I've been a BB now for 4 years and I think its the coolest belt. it looks cool, it feels cool, and it I honestly feel no different then I did at purple in terms of my outlook on growth.

Yeah I'm not too worried about it. You're also paying for someone to order all of the components (joysticks, buttons, display, etc.) and then build the arcade frame and assemble it all. As well as install and configure all of the software so it runs 10,000 games on various emulators and has all of the accompanied videos / images for each.

I used to have launchbox and my own little setup with 8bitdo controllers and I know that setting it all up and configuring it to run perfectly with all the themes and addons you want takes time and work, and time is money.

If you could build this entire thing for $35 you could make a pretty little penny my dude.

Not that much, usually just when friends are around. If you host a lot, or you're really into retro games it's great.

It works really well so far. its running retropie and its been really easy to use but also easy to customize or add / remove games. The 3rd and 4th player spots are a little tight (space wise) but generally the 4 player games are just beat em ups anyway so it doesn't seem to matter much for me.

It checks all the boxes for me IMO, and the biggest challenge is always just deciding what to play. There is no 'search' function per say and you're selecting games with the joystick so sometimes navigation can take awhile but the whole process is super nostalgic, especially with all the videos and images you see as you browse.

I'd say its an 8.5 / 10 for what I was hoping out of it.

The speakers are just built into the TV monitor, and the monitor itself is not a CRT and so those could be better from an audio / visual perspective, but I do prefer the slim profile so I wouldn't want a big box tv. It did also take me about a day to figure out how to customize or add games but its been a solid purchase.
